Gaucho Grill @ Chulan Square

Wow, here we are at Gaucho Grill, a nice dining place with sumptuous food that is sure to tantalize your taste buds! This dinner is one of the most memorable one, thanks to Food Panda for this delightful treats for its fans. We really had a whale of a time at this Argentinean restaurant, which is located strategically at the heart of town, namely Chulan Square.

Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were smitten by its warm ambience with myriad of delightful menu spreads. The interior décor was indeed vintage with gauchos paintings (cowboys of Argentina) as the main theme surrounding us.

Such an aesthetic sight too, to bump into this piece of music antique here.

We were treated to the generous helpings of salad bar at one cozy corner on which the table was layered with red and white, chequered cloth. I personally enjoyed the potato mayo very much! The potato cubes was baked to soft, then mixed with mayonnaise, which was then sprinkled with some crispy bacon, which further zest up the dish. All in all, we enjoyed the assortment of fresh greens very much!

Soup of the day was Potato with Green Pea. The soup seems a bit starchy with stronger potato taste, but was nice. It came a bit creamy as well, but was savoury with the lingering green pea aftertaste.

As a starter, we called for ½ dozen of escargot, with some toasted baguette. This was our first time trying escargot, so it’s kind of exotic to us :) It taste a bit salty amidst the fragrance of garlic, as I learnt that this dish of cooked land snailswas baked with butter and minced garlic.

After some antipasto, then move on to the mains such as pasta selections. We were pretty spoilt with the choices, still able to make up our mind eventually with Spaghetti and Grill Chicken, Spaghetti Carbonara and Seafood Marinara.
The moment when Spaghetti and Grill Chicken arrived, we were pretty stunned with the huge poultry portion. This was kind of oppose to the normal pasta dish that we have, which usually come with shredded or much delicate way of presentation. Nevertheless, the grilled chicken was superb! I must say that. The meat was tender and juicy with every bite of it was thoroughly marinated. The outer layer was a little crispy and went well with the accompanied spaghetti tomato sauce. Overall, the dish wasn’t too sour, just a tad spicy in fact, whilst the spaghetti was done al dente and springy. Yum yum!

As for Spaghetti Carbonara, it was a pasta dish with turkey ham, mushroom and cream, garnished with some fresh parsley. The turkey ham here was softer as compared to the similar dish I had at ph Pastry House, which its ham was baked to crisp! Mushroom slices were chewy and blends well with the gooey creamy sauce. Again, the spaghetti was al dente and simply delish! Am pretty sure pasta lovers would have their thumbs up as well. ^^

Soon, Seafood Marinara joined the table. It was huge in portion as well. Came with generous seafood array such as mussels, calamari rings as well as juicy prawns, these just simply spiced up the enjoyment. The fresh prawns were especially big and succulent, which blends in well with the sourish tomato based sauce of the spaghetti. Ma ma mia!

Last but not least, Grilled Chicken Thigh and Grilled Sole Fish had soon arrived. The former was really done to perfection as the meat was soft and tender. It reminded me of the famous German cuisine; Grilled Pork Knuckle, as the outer layer of the chicken meat was crispy but it wasn’t oily. As for the later, the fish fared pretty good too. It was nicely grilled and taste sweet within albeit no marinade had been added. Thus, you could really savour the true seafood wonders. So satisfying ^^

Before wrapping up for the night, we had some Ice Lemon Tea to clear the throat. It was a sinful, but definitely an epicurean experience that is not to be missed!

You could also have a cozy chill out session at this grandeur lounge with your buddies, if you would like too ^^. Or joined in the dancing floor like my other friends, who were a bit camera-shy :D
