LWIN LEE | EDO RAMEN @ MID VALLEY MEGAMALL
On
the 20th August 2014, the previous Goku Raku Ramen in Midvalley has been
converted to Edo Ramen, marking the
second outlet in Malaysia after the first flagship at Gurney Paragon in Penang
early April of this year.
With
the aim to erase the paradox that most ramen are served at premium price and to
further emphasize the goodness in a sumptuous bowl of this Japanese staple
food, Edo Ramen has come up with a
relatively large array of recipes, crafted by its chef who hails from the Land
of Rising Sun, alongside several delish side dishes to complement the enjoyment
at a truly affordable price. The awesome original homemade Japanese Ramen
actually starts from MYR9.90!
Brief Note about Edo Ramen
Edo (江戸) was the former
name of Tokyo during the Tokugawa Shogunate or samurai era. Branching off from
Goku Raku Ramen, Edo Ramen brings a fresh approach to ramen indulgence at
greater value with its first appearance in Gurney Paragon, Penang.
Edo Ramen introduces
Malaysians to Tokyo-style ramen, a unique recipe by notable ramen connoisseur
Mr Tetsuya Fukino. Ramen enthusiasts can choose from 4 types of soups and 2
categories of toppings depending on personal preference.
Relaxing
and calming vibes resonating throughout the spacious environment, making it an
ideal place for both casual meet up as well as a family dining spot.
In
conjunction with this new launch, our palate are tantalized with more improved ramen
recipes during this review session, pairing with flavourful soup broth that has
been painstakingly boiled for long hours to unveil the sweetness in it. Diners
can now choose from 5 types of soup base which include:
Tokyo(Classic Chicken with Seafood Broth)
Tonkotsu(Classic Pork Bone Broth)
Miso(Classic Pork Bone Broth with Japanese Soybean Paste)
Black (Classic Pork Bone Broth with Japanese Fish Powder and Fragrant
Garlic Oil)
NEW GyuKotsu (Classic Beef Bone Broth)
At
Edo Ramen, only homemade Japanese Ramen is served fresh daily, and that
explains why the noodles are exceptionally springier and tastier.
Without
further ado, let’s dig in!
Tonkotsu Ramen (MYR
9.90) - Ultimate Topping : MYR 15.90
Has always loved the sweet corns and seaweed
that both makes a good contributor to the sweetness of the broth. The flavourful
broth is made of pork bones boiled over medium to high heat for more than 12
hours to ensure the essence is thoroughly extracted and emulsifies into milky
consistency and robust flavour.
Miso Ramen (MYR 10.90) -
Ultimate Topping : MYR 16.90
Saporous
tonkotsu cooked with Japanese soybean paste that give rise to a creamy texture
and slightly sweet broth. This goes
really well with the must-have char siew and kakuni(braised pork belly), which literally melts in your mouth!
Loving it!
New
addition! Calling out to Beef Ramen Lovers…………….
Ultimate Gyukotsu Ramen RM
15.90 (Promotional Price ) RM 17.90 (N.P)
Mouth-watering
beef bone ramen, made with delicious soup that is boiled over 7 hours and served
with handmade japanese ramen and tender beef slices.
In
additions to the ramen choices, there
are also toothsome side dishes to serve as your appetizers too, namely………..
Boiled Gyoza (3pcs : MYR
4.90)
Bountiful
meaty filling in every bites.
Pan-fried Gyoza (3pcs :
MYR 4.90)
Aburi Japanese Char Siew
(MYR 11.90)
And
this glorious Aburi Char Siew that has been warming the cockles of my heart
ever since I first tried it at its previous establishment of Gokuraku Ramen, remains lusciously
comforting and succulent as always. Raising your eye-brow amidst the air of
doubt? Then try it out and thou shall fathom (=
Starting
from as low as MYR 9.90 per bowl, it’s surely a deal hard to resist and prove to
be wallet-friendly too. Thus, get your ramen cravings satisfied now and savour
the ultimate ramen-dining experience with Edo Ramen! Check out this place the
next time when you are nearby.
