LWIN LEE | RESTORAN HOMETOWN LUICHA

It was a totally impromptu discovery when the two twins (mom and her sister), decides to pop in at this new shop of Hakka cuisine, for a quick dinner fix. Being the foodie at heart, food snapping comes naturally, even without the Lumix, smartphone at times does come into the rescue :)

This humble shop is located at the area further up from Len Sen, but between Taman Anggerik. Too bad, no address is printed at its business card, else it’ll be helpful to anyone who wish to give it a try. Ms Pei Yee who hails from Malim Nawar, is the owner of restaurant who introduces to us KL folks the beauty and authentic cuisine from the Heppo Hakka heritage. Now that I come to know Hakka, actually has another different kinship and not only the general Hakka that I thought of earlier.

Whenever we talk about Hakka cuisine, the signature Lei Cha dish is nowhere to be forgotten. A bowl of nutritious mixture of various chopped veges and nuts, sitting atop on a bed of brown rice, accompanied by a bowl of seemingly challenging soup to many of my friends, but indeed a very health-promoting meal. Perhaps it’s kinda an acquired taste thingy, but if you try to savour it slowly, you will learn to appreciate it. The usual way I enjoy it is to have the two bowls separately, rather than to pour the whole soup into the rice as I don’t wish them to turn soggy, and it actually makes no difference than eating the usual fried rice and a bowl of soup (=

Of course, there are still other homey Chinese dishes that you could call to try on. Taste wise, they are not bad and pretty convincing though. Ingredients are freshly prepared daily and diners get to enjoy their meal at a spacious and airy environment.

Hao Hao chi! ^_^

Also do check out another nearby eatery, which is also homey but equally tantalizing Chinese fare located just further up at Taman Bukit Anggerik. They cooked toothsome 'tong shui' as well as tasty noodles. Yum yum....
