Wish there is a hut that
houses all kinds of desserts under one roof? Look no further and be prepared to
pamper the sweet tooth in you at Sweet
Hut Café.
Apart from the usual
confectioneries, Sweet Hut has now ventured into a more savoury route.
We have
sampled the festive menu in conjunction with Valentine’s Day as well as
embracing the Year of Goat, and the dishes were toothsome, especially the
grilled chicken chop.
The café
boasts a spacious and casual environment, adorned with sleek white and red
chromes alternately that welcomes guests with a bright and lively aura in the
brisk neighbourhood of Cheras.
Let’s
kick start the prosperous tossing session!
GRILLED CHICKEN CHOP
This
seemingly common slab of grilled meat was actually very tender and such a delight! Looks nothing much far from the usual grilled chicken exteriorly but once popped into the mouth tasted understatedly stellar.
Meat was very juicy and well marinated, skillfully grilled till slight crispy
on the skin and didn’t taste oily at all.
Actually, grilled chicken chop is not really a thing to me compared to deep fried version (sinful huh ^^), but this plate by Sweet Hut had since changed my perception for the better.
For this plate of grilled chicken chop, diners get to pair with their preferred sauce, choosing from either black pepper, buttermilk or Portuguese.

My personal
pick is either buttermilk or Portuguese for the black pepper tasted milder when
compared.

The
butter milk relish is fragrantly prepared with curry leaves and sweet corn,
whereas the Portuguese one is awesomely concocted with a sweet-and-sour tang.
Very appetizing though….
Whenever
it’s nearing Feb 14th , romance is always in the air and it’s just
perfectly accompanied by scrumptious dessert of course (=
MATCHA LAVA CAKE
Served
with homemade azuki ice cream, which is noteworthy and tasted great. Smooth and
decently milky.
Never
thought of bumping into this ‘old pal’ again, matcha! In the form of a lava
cake, hehe….

We
were told that these dishes might be slowly incorporated into the menu soon. So
get anticipated for it and hopefully there would be more delicious hot plates
to come.
