LWIN LEE | CELADON ROYAL THAI @ PAVILION KL

After some frequent café hopping recently, now we are back with another Asian culinary chapter, Thai cuisine at Celadon Royal Thai, located exclusively at the middle ring of Level 6, Pavilion Shopping Mall.

Noticed that some interior décor of this restaurant has been revamped for a more exclusive feel and grandeur setting as compared to previous visit almost 2 years ago. However, the iconic painting of Marilyn Monroe still remains intact at the same room with similar arrangement, only with dimmer lighting.

This place is equipped with multi-faceted concepts to ensure utter privacy of its guests, such that each VIP rooms is distinctively designed with different theme, paired with wall painting, wooden embellishments as well as sleek and sheeny table setting.

Speaking of Thai food, it naturally conjures up the image of its signature Tom yam Goong and Green Curry too. Hence, these are one of the must-have in the list during this post winner’s celebration of Christmas decoration.

TOM YAM CELADON- POH TEAK (SINGLE- MYR 23.90/ DOUBLE- MYR 44.90)
Signature tom yam seafood soup flavoured with lime, lemongrass, chillies and hot basil leaves. Very appetizing and taste bud-challenging at the same time.

GAENG KEAW WANN (MYR 23.90- CHICKEN)
The quintessential Thai green curry with a touch of coconut milk is deliciously served. I especially enjoy the juicy and tender chicken meat drenched in the thick and fragrant green gravy.

All curry dishes served with either crispy salted fish or butter bread.

PLA KAPONG NEUNG MA NOW (MYR 68.90)
This seabass (approx. 900g) is steamed with chillies, garlic and lime sauce atop of a small flame to keep it warm. The meat is very fresh, sweet and mouthwatering. I enjoy every bites of them alongside its tangy sauce. Fan of fish dishes would be thrilled about this.

GAI HOR BAI TOEY (MYR 18.90- 4PC/ MYR 22.90- 6 PC)
You just can’t go without this signature cuisine; deep fried marinated chicken wrapped in pandan leaves. Though the chicken cutlets have been deep fried, the meat remain succulent and thoroughly marinated too. They are already an enjoyable fare on their own.

Of course, some chillers to clear off the burning sensation on the tongue after some perspiring moments from the spicy feast.

THAI ICED TEA (MYR 12)
CELADON FRUIT PUNCH (MYR 15)
MANGO MAMA SMOOTHIES (MYR 15)
LYCHEE VIRGIN MOJITO (MYR 15)

Of course, there is also some cozy nook to cater for wine aficionado.

The beverages were alright except the Mango smoothies, which ought to be thick with mango palatably, instead of milk-dominated. It then resulted in a quite dilute blend contrary to expectation- orangey and fruity fragrance. Nonetheless, it gets moderately fixed up after feedback is conveyed and it returns with more mango-flavoured, at least I can taste the mango presence now.

Overall, food is good, sumptuously dished up, withal not so friendly on the wallet wise. To fix some sweet tooth craving, Coffea Coffee and Wa Café are just nearby. Or, if you are looking for some healthy and hearty antipasto buffet, do check out SpasioMilano which is situated at the same floor as well, as you exit from the right of Celadon.

Cheers for now and Carpe Diem ♡
