LWIN LEE | THYME TO TASTE RESTAURANT @ NEO DAMANSARA





Good food and good prices are sometimes mutually exclusive, but not always. That's the case at Thyme to Taste Restaurant which is tucked away in a corner just behind Manhantan Hotel which is total black color in a cubic form- bearing Broadway sign currently. 





Opened since last August, Thyme To Taste is a truly hidden gem at this tranquil neighbourhood. Gone are the days where most foodies would tend to flock at major cities and towns for splendour gastronomic enjoyment, but glad that this quaint little establishment fulfills most of them, if not all.

In case one yet to know, Neo Damansara is actually located just opposite Empire Damansara where both appear alluringly catchy with its exquisite and noteworthy gourmet offerings respectively.









With over 13 years of experience under his belt in hotel line specifically in Western fusion, Chef Kenny together with his team are committed to serve only the freshest ingredients with mostly are made from scratch, in dishing out their hearty repertoire repast. The chemistry of the team renders the swift service, thus depicts their howling rendition of fusion from the best of both worlds.

CHEF SALADS MYR19
Garden salad top with tuna flakes and hard boil egg





Chef’s Salad with black balsamic vinaigrette reduction with some caramelized sweetness entailed. The tuna chunks here especially moist as only those kept in water are used together with some freshly and finely chopped onions.


 


WILD MUSHROOM SOUP MYR 15
4 types of fresh mushroom blend, scented with truffle oil to first warm up your tummy satisfyingly. It has the decent thick consistency and is very aromatic in every spoonful.




GREEN ASPARAGUS (PERU) MYR 15
Grilled fresh Peru green asparagus in cream.
It’s actually a seasonal soup as the asparagus is particularly sourced from Peru(thicker) for the more pleasant and thicker palate, with mixture of potato.




SEAFOOD MARINARA MYR 25
Sauteed shrimps, fish, squid and pronto sauce, tossed with al dente Italian pasta and light dashes of Italian parsley.






MINI CARBONARA MYR 12
Beef bacon pan-fried till crispy and excess oil is removed before tossed with cream sauce, parmesan and shitake mushroom. This is definitely a luscious plate of pasta and appeals most to fans of creamy gravy. The portion is really value for money seriously.




AGLIO OLIO WITH PRAWNS AND SCALLOP (MYR 33)
Juicy Hokkaido scallop and grilled prawns sauteed with garlic and chilli flakes till fragrant, then topped with rocket (Aragula) and parsley. Customers could also opt for an original Aglio Olio at just the friendly price of MYR 13.




For small bites, try their terrific GARLIC BREAD MYR 9! (Am not pulling your leg by the way. If you don’t buy me, give it a try yourself for the verdict)


The garlic bread with thymes still remain aromatically crispy and light even had stayed expose to room temperature for quite some time during the course of our food photography session. Super duple awesome! At times, the most basic and simplest nosh could be easily attested to the skill of the chef (=



Finally, the sweet gratifying moment has come, dessert!



VALRHONA CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE MYR 15
Served with berries stew, gooseberries (physallis) and vanilla ice cream
Not too sweet and not that sinful as only 50mg sugar is involved. Baked for 7 minutes only to achieve that perfect nuance of soft and crusty from inner out. More often than not, we tend to enjoy these sweeties separately but earnestly, you should really eat them as a whole for that spectacular balance throughout consistently.






CREME BRULEE MYR 15
Served with berries stew and chocolate ice cream
Milky and satiny sweet delights that uses vanilla beans for the utmost satisfaction





Coffee over here are using 100% Arabica sourced from Sumatra with a medium roast profile that just suit the general taste bud.

Risotto cooked with shitake cubes and vegetable stock- resulting in a plate of flavorful and well-prepared risotto. I totally fell in love with it!
Fans of mushroom would surely rejoice over this!



The discerning palate of folks nowadays are blooming day by day and hence dictates a higher culinary expectation and a whole new appreciation of the food art besides gustatory wise.


As Thyme to Taste is located somewhat away from the hustle and bustle of metropolis, it could be as well likened as a serene sanctuary for any bon vivants to unwind in a unruffled manner. Dining over here allows one to fully indulge their senses in all the painstakingly crafted dishes by Chef Kenny which warrant deserving attention. So remember to check out this place soon!
