NEW MENU: KARAKA – MEN | HAKATA IPPUDO RAMEN @ THE GARDENS MALLS

The first IPPUDO opens on October 16, 1985 in Hakata, Japan before opening a flagship store over here in Malaysia at Pavilion Shopping Mall. This internationally acclaimed Japanese Ramen captures the heart of the foodies around Klang Valley with its unique twist of ramen where guest can actually choose their preferred texture alongside its toothsome signature tonkatsu broth.

Having been around here for some time now, recently another new menu has been introduced to titillate Japanese ramen fans on top of its existing menu. Let’s have a quick rundown of what could be expected from the latest addition.

These were the dishes that we sampled during its private event held recently at its Garden Mall’s outlet, which boasts a comfortable dining suitable for friends and family to gather over some sumptuous feast.

PEPERON EDAMAME (MYR 9)
Blanched edamame tossed in dried chilli, mashed garlic, togarashi (Japanese spice) and olive oil.
Quite a nice tweak to its original version.

HAKATA HITOKUCHI NIGIRI (MYR 14-4 pcs)
Hand roll rice ball served with sliced omelet, minced char siew and sliced basil topped with mentaiko

SOFT SHELL CRAB BUNS (MYR 10)
Juicy deep fried soft shell crab served with steamed bun and teriyaki sauce

IPPUDO TAKOYAKI (MYE 14)
Classic Japanese favourite octopus dumplings served with takoyaki sauce

SALMON FOIL YAKI (MYR 20)
Spicy ponzu served with steamed salmon and assorted vegetables

KARAKA – MEN (MYR 27.90)
Ippudo Original Tonkotsu broth served with special spicy miso inflected with shichimi, cashew nuts and ground pork with 3 level of spiciness to choose from. We were served Level 1 Spiciness before we proceed to accept the challenge at Level 3 and surprisingly, it turned out pretty well and manageable (= Personal liking would be the spicier it is, the more fragrant the overall dish became.

And desserts to wrap up the delicate night on a sweet note.

ICE CREAM BUN (MYR 12.90)
A combination of Vanilla and Green Tea Ice cream served with deep fried buns.
The fried mantou was actually very fluffy and pillowy-soft. It’s very much enjoyable on its own, or you could also pair it with the ice creams.

For those staying in the vicinity of Bangsar, Ippudo has made it easier to those craving pangs and pows for Japanese delights at its other outlet at Bangsar Shopping Centre. Would be sharing it real soon, so stay tuned and I promise will be back very soon after a quick interlude charging up my devices with Innergie Lifehub  (=
