SANGKAYA- COCONUT ICE CREAM INDULGENCE @ JALAN ALOR






Suppose this brand is no longer alien to the foodies around as this coco-nutz delight have been making a robust debut ever since it gets launched earlier. Initially started off humbly at Jalan Alor with an oldie, nostalgic cart, it has since transformed into a more comfortable enclave with casual vibes to surround you while relishing in the enjoyment.




Sangkaya is a Malaysian founded creamery brand on the philosophy of manifesting the true values of coconut as a consumable, super food that was acknowledged as the all life-giving from many a century ago. The team believes that by starting with their own premium coconut ice cream; they are set out to influence a trend as we introduce to the world a different class of indulgence.





In conjunction with U Foodie Raya- a campaign by U Mobile team celebrating the Grand Finale of Ramadhan with social influencers and its 6 partnering merchants. And Sangkaya is one of them.






And so, at the first pit-stop, our palates were first treated to the signatures of this coconut dessert palour. Four scoops of coconut ice cream of your choice,served with fresh coconut flesh! Bravo!





There were 2 more new flavours in the house during our visit- Chocolate and Thai Green Tea on top of the ChaYen (Thai Milk Tea) and of course, its reigning majesty; original coconut flavor. And that made up our perfect vintage bowl of a true coconut craze satiation.





The line- up of ice cream flavors is a personal elation itself that is unique in its own right – the first creamery in the market with coconut milk as the mother base for fresh dairy, cream and egg replacement. Hence, the health-conscious and vegans are now entitled to enjoy real ice cream too.





As Malaysian, we love our King of Fruits dearly. With the wonders of law of attraction, coincidentally it was also a durian season and as such, please welcome the glorious Durian Cendol!








Needless to say, it was a superb fete and I can’t help to bask in the creamy fresh of the pungent fruit immediately. Like it or not, it was yummy!






The products are freshly made daily using the best ingredients available, proudly sourced from their home grown produces. As they continue to innovate the menu, they would like to be embodied as a true lifestyle Asian food culture, with that millennial Midas touch- they are relentless in the mission to bring coconut back in fashion.
