YUT KEE RESTAURANT (1928) 鎰記茶室 @ JALAN DANG WANGI






Seems like energy was well restored after a good night rest, we woke up decently early enough to catch the brunch hour at Yut Kee Restaurant (1928) 鎰記茶室, after some ambitious foodie day trip of Rawang-Semenyih-Cheras the day before, haha.

Pardon me, before this, I wasn’t aware that Yut Kee is a famous heritage place that serves up toothsome Hainanese food, till the Chief Food Connoisseur (CFC) told me about it. I was told that this restaurant has quite some history back, and now that the business has expanded into a bigger space, not to mention within a more comfortable and modern setting.




Luckily the queue on that Sunday nearly-noon was rather bearable, as to what usually need to ensure a beeline during weekdays especially lunch time.





Initially wanted to try the famous Roti Babi and Stuffed Roasted Pork, but unfortunately all sold out as it was a public holiday I heard, so just got to settle down with what is available, albeit slightly meat-less, hehe.




PORK CHOP (MYR12.50)
Not too bad a try, the lean meat was quite juicy and tender, coated with a soft layer of omelette batter I guess.





HAILAM MEE (MYR 7.50)
Reminds me of its darker twins- Hokkien Noodle (=
Glad that it comes with my fave octopus, would be even greater if more of them were added!





KOPI/ KOPI O (MYR 2)
Some local coffee to complement the Hainanese affair.




And perhaps have some take-away of their fresh bakes for some tea-time later.

Overall, it was a yummy session. Probly would be back again to try out those missing signatures- porky feast! (=
