LOTUS DESARU BEACH RESORT @ KOTA TINGGI, JOHOR

It was my first time to Johor particularly Desaru (often which I just merely pass by when heading to Singapore, hehe) and therefore, I keep an open mind to really explore all the places it got to offer here. After the maiden visit to experience agro-tourism down south at Desaru Fruit Farm earlier of the day, we finally made it to Lotus Desaru Beach Resort that has a stretch of about 26 km of sandy beach that is fringed with palm trees or locally known as ‘Ru’ along it.

The already widely known contemporary beachfront resort is overlooking the South China Sea and is just 8 km drive away from DesaruFruit Farm. The resort is also easily accessible from the improved Senai Desaru Highway (E22) that leads directly to this destination.

Besides furnished with all the necessary amenities, this resort also houses Water Theme Park too which features a lazy river, 3 pools and a kids' club, as well as a spa and a range of land and sea-based activities and games.

Ah, don’t’ forget to check out the splashing giant coconut at the pool area, it’s certainly an interesting nook and fun moment to behold, especially those in the swim suits enjoying the splash out there which is much needed during these kind of sultry weather, hehe.

After a quick tour around the fairy-tale like resort with its enchanting pastel colours-painted building, we soon make a beeline to Rhu Seafood Restaurant, which serves up all-day dining with an excellent choice of popular Asian and International foods. With a friendly service crew and casual atmospheric view overlooking the sea, it’s simply blissful.

Lotus Desaru Beach Resort
“Desaru” means “Village Of Casuarinas” or palms. A malay word "Desa" which means village and “Ru” is the local name for Casuarinas. While Desaru may not be as secluded as it used to be, there is still an unspoiled and unmistakable pristine nature that is worth exploring. It's sandy beach offers all the amenities or solitude anyone can expect, plus the added bonus of glistening waves on one side, and unspoiled jungle on the other.

Thanks to Aaron, our friendly resort tour of the day!
