SAUNA STEAMBOAT @ RESORT SEAFOOD STEAMBOAT, RESORTS WORLD GENTING (RWG)

Ever imagine ‘steamboating’ at one of Malaysia’s coolest hill resort to temporarily keep yourself warm while enjoying the cool, chilling breeze outside the enclave? Then Resort Seafood Steamboat is where you should head to for a luxurious dining experience, tailored to elevate your palete gastronomically while fostering togetherness at the same time.

The conventional steamboat meal is now being extravagantly transformed at RWG where this warming repast is showcased with the freshest live seafood and premium ingredients at this spacious seafood-centric restaurant.

3 different steamboat packages are offered here, so diners could make the most suitable selections from an array of raw and marinated ingredients, that later be cooked at their tables of their preferred room- either private space or the usual dining hall for the walk-in patrons.

Resort Seafood Steamboat offers 4 private rooms where the first two come with 2 dining tables, making them ideal for larger group or family members up to 20 people for sharing the huge soup pot, while the other 2 is perfect for a total guest of 15 to the maximum 20, for those who prefer to enjoy their bowl of soup individually and leisurely at their pace of time.

The highlight here would definitely be the Seafood Sauna Layer Pot, that comes pre-assembled with assorted food arranged in tiers and supposedly eaten layer by layer after steamed.

Comfortably set for a group of 8 to 10 people, this hearty sauna pot features various seafood galore that includes salmon fish head, mud crab, squid, grouper slices, script venus clams, half-shelled scallops, sea cucumber, grass prawn, green mussels, Chinese cabbage, enoki mushroom, shitake mushroom, sweet corn and King’s noodles. Don’t they sound like an imperial feast waiting to be devoured? Yummm………………

Even the sauces comes in so much assortments!

There are 2 set menus for the Steamboat ranging from MYR 1,100 to MYR 1,650 suitable for 8 to 10 people, and consists of chicken soup, grouper slices, lamb, beef striploin, prawns, crispy smoked duck, chicken drumstick, sea cucumber, scallops, green mussels, mushrooms, wintermelon, Chinese cabbage, glass noodles and yam for both selections, except that the latter package comes with Boston Lobster as an additional item.
** All steamboat prices and items are subject to change without prior notice as it is based on market price. Hence, best to call up and book in advance.
** Please allow 30 minutes of waiting as the seafood is prepared fresh and live from their inhouse vast aquarium.

While devouring the essence of the salubrious soup resulted from the dripping sweetness from those upper seafood layers while steaming, diners could also opt for add-ons ala carte to further indulge in the flavourful broth.

More steamboat ingredients perhaps? Love the springy meatballs and fish balls. Most importantly is the soup that is so gloriously sweet and a great enjoyment by itself.

Some tips shared by the chef of the house.
If the soup is to be eaten with scoops of lightly fried ginger rice, you will be surprised of what’s going to ensue- Umami flavor the Oriental way is how I would describe it.

The ginger fried rice is purposely cooked with minimal sauces and seasonings but with decent amount of fragrant julienned ginger, so that it would allow the seafood broth at the bottom from the Seafood Sauna Layer Pot, to bring out the real harmoniously flavourful taste of both components. Indeed, impressively executed! Thanks for the recommendation chefs!
