From Saint-Germain-des-Prés  to Montmartre via the Grand Boulevards, Cafés Richards- a unique bistro that offers atmospheric space fusing a blend of emotion, culture and animated discussion, has now arrived much nearer to us at SkyAvenue. This international foray into the retail world of cafes, is part of SkyAvenue’s flagship new openings in conjunction of the newfangled lifestyle mall, set forth with an unprecedented motley of dining and shopping options.

 



If everyone of the thousands of café and restaurants in Paris has its own charisma, they too have one thing in common, which is Cafés Richard; a key factor contributing to their authenticity.




Cafés Richards is a traditional French-style coffee roaster. Evolving from the Maison Richard founded in 1892, it has remained as family business throughout the years. Pierre Richard runs the business today with his two children; Anne and Arnaud, combining the human values for which the company is known with the expertise of its specialists.



In a nod to the French way of life, where a café is more than a grab-and-go caffeine stop, Cafés Richard has modelled its seating areas after the ones in Paris.



Divided into four zones, the 263-square-metre café can sit more than 120 customers. There are intimate booths for tête-à-tête conversations, alfresco for cool mountain air, wicker chairs facing out to the walkway for people-watching and banquette seating for groups of friends. The most coveted seats will undoubtedly be the ones nestled within a stylized  fiberglass and steel Frangipani ‘flower’ which can seat up to 34.




The  designers  took  design  elements  of  a  classic  French  café  – brass  rails,  mosaic  floor,  cloth awnings and raffia wicker chairs – and gave them a fresh interpretation. For example, while brass is a traditional finish, the designers have gone with a satin brush finish for the round tables for a contemporary interpretation of a more traditional look and feel.


Colourful oversized advertising posters and 19th -century pendant lamps are juxtaposed against a minimalistic ceiling in metallic paint while red accents from the retro tea canisters along the wall play against the black and white monochrome.


Their passion for espresso is closely linked with their expertise when it comes to carefully selecting the most quality beans and assuring the perfect traditional French roast. The tasting experience is the ultimate phase, essential for guaranteeing the most developed aromas and the right balance. This professionalism and know-how has given rise to prestigious coffee such as Perle Noire for instance.

Cafés Richards has also been applauded for its wonderful range of classic and herbal infusions. Traditional flavours and delicious innovation delight those who crave for serenity and well-being, adding a sublime dimension to their treasured tea drinking ritual.



SENCHA GREEN TEA
Green tea from China in the Japanese style with crisp herbal aromas, an excellent accompaniment at lunch time, particularly with seafood.



Connoisseur of wines and coffee cocktails are not left behind too.
For those who prefer a twist to their caffeine intake, there are coffee cocktails and tea cocktails to tease their tastebuds. A few were specially concocted for Resorts World Genting, such as the French Genting, a combination of French orange liqueur, espresso and local Bentong ginger.


FRENCH GENTING 
As aptly addressed, this is a unique recipe specially created to celebrate Resorts World Genting’s 50th anniversary.


A case of Malaysia meets France in this resplendent combination of traditional French orange liqueur “Grand Marnier”, espresso and local Bentong ginger that are blended to perfection!


COFFEE << IN THE CLOUDS >> 
Inspired by the classic White Russian, this soothing and smooth cocktail combines homemade Cafés Richard coffee liqueur with vodka and a ‘nuage de lait’ (cloud of milk)- a real dessert treat!


MOET & CHANDON BRUT IMPERIAL ROSE NV 
A finespun, rosy immix of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, which is appealing to both fairer sex and chivalry knights.


Cafés Richards also provides chocolates, sugars and other sweet treats and accompaniment products, allowing you to fully enjoy the Parisian experience. Bon appétit!



Besides an all-day dining menu, Cafés Richard also serves Parisian High Tea and European cuisine.



Parisian High Tea is available between 2:30pm and 5:30pm, which is ideal for coffee  or tea lovers needing  some bites to go with. Savories such as Blini with Smoked Salmon and Chive Dressing, Smoked Duck with Melon,  Salted Beef on French Toast, and Foie Gras Mousse on Vol-Au Vent and Cranberry Dressing will whet your appetite. The High Tea also comes with a selection of sweets that include Mini Éclair, Cheese Cake, Profiteroles and Crème Brûlée.

  


For diners that love a full meal, Cafés Richard has a selection of appetizers, salads & soups, main courses, and desserts. Top of the list for its main dish is Saumon Rôti – fresh Norwegian Salmon slow baked  in  oven  drizzled  with  lemon  butter  sauce.  For pasta  enthusiast,  the  outlet  offers Spaghetti  Aux Escargots  where spaghetti is cooked with braised escargots and crème  sauce. As for meat lover, one may opt for roasted French duck, char-broiled  chicken or grilled Australian beef sirloin for a nourishing meal.


Café Richards is also opened for breakfast, thus, early birds can try their Le Parisien set where you will  be  served  with  a  freshly  baked  croissant  with  artisan  jam  as  well  as  a  glass  of  freshly squeezed orange juice and a cup of coffee or tea. Alternatively, you may try their Le Continental set that comes with a toasted French baguette instead.




Talking about recreating a Parisian café, from the classic black-and-white  mosaic floor tiles, to the cloth awnings and raffia wicker chairs, Cafés Richard has meticulously recreated the quintessential Parisian café at SkyAvenue.
