SPEAKEASY BAR | CRIME COCKTAIL BAR @ TREC KL

CRIME Cocktail Bar- one of the latest addition of the new speakeasy bar on the block over at TREC KL. Helming the hideout is the Soulmaker Mixologist Kelvin Lee, who has won numerous awards in his 7 years being a professional bartender.

Crime’s interior is modeled after what you would imagine if you were to be going to an Italian Godfather’s favoured speakeasy bar. Posh seats, comfortably exclusive and above all- hidden away from the prying eyes of the public.

  

Rest assured, you will have a challenge just trying to locate the entrance to this hidden speakeasy hangout. Tips- just look out for Crave Oysters & Seafood House and ask the friendly staff where Crime is.

The only way to this bar is via a secret door that only can be accessed via a passcode- wow, suddenly feels as if I’m one of the crew in Tom Cruise’s famous sequel of Mission Impossible! (=

The main drinks to look out for at Crime are of course their creative signature cocktails, but they also have an extensive selection of other liquor that would suit most casual to picky drinkers. Even the cocktails can be customized to individual liking! Terrific!

 

Embodying a speakeasy concept, this hidden nocturnal bar offers an unorthodox setting, where expressive wall painting can be seen embellishing the wall of this first floor cocktail bar while dimly highlighted by its dim lighting, injecting some mysterious feel to it.

We were introduced to the signature cocktails by the master himself Kelvin Lee- a familiar figure of ‘soul maker’ in this field, who is also a mind-boggling mixologist who often impress its cocktail enthusiast with its unique creations.

Some of his latest awards include Martell’s Rise Above Award 2015/2016 (Winner for Tasting Category) and Bols Around The World (BATW) 2015/2016.

One of Kelvin Lee’s soulful award winning creations is the Silk Road, a bacon-infused whisky mixed with a concoction of other secret ingredients and topped with a piece of tasty bacon wrapped strawberry. The Grand Bloom is another one of his finest, which is a gin based berry flavoured cocktail served in a glass garnished with a Roselle and crushed ice on top.

Sights of the cocktails are already a sight to behold, what’s more tasted and enjoyed.

Banana, Fresh Pineapple, Pineapple Juice, Speculoos Syrup, Honey, Lime and Kraken Dark Spiced Rum

(Banana fans especially will be on cloud nine over this drink!) 

Jade of Thousand Layer

Gin, Pu Er Ginseng Tea, Don Benedict and Chrysanthemum Syrup

If you have a more refined taste or have a cracing for something that’s not on the cocktail menu, you can also make a request and Kelvin and his team will whip up something to  tickle your particular fancy. For non-alcoholic drinkers, they also serve up a mean mocktail specially tailored to your preference.
