Mak’s Chee, the casual quick restaurant serving authentic
Hong-Kong-style prawn wonton noodles, famous with its 100-year old recipe from
the Mak’s Family, has just launched its second outlet at Pavilion Elite, a new
wing of Pavilion Shopping Mall to the public on 1st May, 2017 following the
huge success of its first outlet which was opened at 1 Utama last year.
In conjunction with the opening of its second outlet, Mak’s
Chee is introducing a new, delectable and authentic limited time promotional
dish - Swiss Chicken Leg, to tantalize the busy working professionals, tourists
and families alike.
According to Mr. Gary
Crestejo, Managing Director of Mak’s Chee, Swiss Chicken Leg is a specialty
of Hong Kong food culture. It is slow-cooked with sweet soy sauce and a variety
of herbs and spices. Despite the name
"Swiss," it is unrelated to Switzerland, and indeed a local Hong Kong
recipe.
A Brief About Mak’s Chee History…...
Mak’s Chee is a
quick casual restaurant serving authentic Hong-Kong-style wonton noodles, using
a 100-year old recipe from the Mak’s Family.
The Mak’s Chee recipe is originated from a street-side eatery in
Guangzhou before World War II by Mr. Mak Woon-Chee, known as the King of
Wonton. The war brought the Mak’s Family
to Hong Kong and Woon-Chee’s lineal descendants carried on the recipe and
tradition since then.
From there on, the
Mak’s name grew in popularity in Hong Kong and the “gold fish shaped” wontons
and the special homemade noodles received Michelin’s Bib-Gourmand title. The recipe was complimented by a long list of
famous personalities such as the Former President of the Republic of China -
Chiang Kai-Shek and Former First Lady Soong May-Ling, the infamous food critic
Chua Lam as well as renowned American chef, author & TV host Anthony
Bourdain.
This promotional dish is now offered at an introductory promotional
price starting from MYR 9.90 per plate from 4th May to 31st July, 2017. There
will be three options to choose from -- Original Swiss Chicken Leg, Swiss Chicken
Leg Rice with Sunny Side-up Egg and Swiss Chicken Leg Dry Noodle -- that will
definitely tease the taste buds of discerning food lovers.
Apart from the promotional dish of Swiss Chicken Leg to
commemorate the opening of business at Pavilion Elite, Mak’s Chee is also
having a special Weekly Half-Priced (50%
discount) Promotion as follow:
• Week 1: 4th
– 10th May, for Signature Wonton Soup/Dry Noodle
• Week 2: 11th
– 17th May, for Beef Tendon & Brisket Soup Noodle
• Week 3: 18th
– 24th May, for Sweet & Sour Pork Dry Noodle
• Week 4: 25th
– 31st May, for Dumpling Soup/Dry Noodle
Said Gary, “We are
retaining our quick casual dining concept as we know busy professionals are
always rushing for time, but forgoing on food quality should never be an

outlet targets at working professionals, tourists and families within proximity
of KL’s central business district.

Malaysia which has driven us to the opening of this second outlet. With our
presence in central city location such as Pavilion Elite, we are confident in
expanding our reach and presence in Malaysia,” he added.
Gary also assured that Mak’s
Chee will maintain all traditional food preparation procedures, cooking
methods and tools used to emulate the similar kitchen environment of the past
in all its outlets in their effort to reinforce brand and food quality
assurance to their customers.
To celebrate the opening of the Pavilion Elite outlet, Mak’s
Chee has kick-started a contest to offer the public an opportunity to win the Grand Prize of a round-trip to Hong Kong
for 2, inclusive of flight tickets, accom modation, and admission tickets
to Hong Kong Disneyland in a digital contest beginning from 5th March to 15th May, 2017.
