6TH AVENUE CHEESE CAKE |THE TOKYO RESTAURANT @ ISETAN THE JAPAN STORE

I easily get excited when news about delish cheesy bakes travelled to my ears.  Being an avid cheese lover besides also the evergreen hankering for good matcha indulgence, I’m always on the hunt for toothsome desserts in general. Now that the alluring Japanese cake was shared to and highly recommended by a foodie pal during our tête-à-tête session over some freshly baked salted egg cheese tarts (yeah, it’s cheese-related still, haha), I soon harness the thought of visiting soon with CFC to try out that awesome treat!

So one fine evening after work in the Golden Triangle, we quickly head over to Lot 10 for some quick dinner, before catching movie. And that’s when the idea struck- “I haven’t tried the famous cheesecake yet!” Hence, after fixing the craving for some homey and warm food on a rainy night, we went all the way up to the 5^th Floor of Isetan Japanese Store.

Was glad that all the restaurants at The Table, including The Tokyo Restaurant, opens till 11pm. Unlike most of the stores and Japanese eateries at the lower ground of ISETAN The Japan Stores which usually closes much earlier by 9pm, we still able to make it in time just to savour the piece of much-said piece of indulgence.

The place was imbued with unspoken sophistication design, well set up with warm ambiance, allowing each guests to relaxingly relishing in their culinary enjoyment.

In the interest of the time before movie started, we quickly dropped the order for that cheesecake along with a few sips to round it up swiftly.

6TH AVENUE CHEESECAKE (MYR 18)

It’s actually hard not to acknowledge the drawing element of this dearie.

Distinctively different from its usual Western peers, this 6^th Avenue Cheesecake boasts a bold, rounded sensation of richness that only an ardent cheese lover would fathom and ultimately enjoy, otherwise would overly rich to general palates, but you could always share the ‘cheesy’ happiness right? (=

The texture is heavenly moister in the middle (instantly melt the moment you scoop into your mouth) and gets slowly more solid like baked cake as you deviate towards the outside. It’s then subtly mellowed down with the accompanied whipped cream for a satisfying finishing.

And some tipples of liquor wouldn’t spoil the weekend eve right? So I thought, hehe.......

FRANGELICO (MYR 25)

I always has a yen for sweet and creamy booze, hence settled for Frangelico as Amaretto has run out of stock. The noisette (hazelnut) and herb-flavored liqueur (coloured with caramel coloring) came captivatingly not too bad either. Pour in some milk for some added smoothness.
