육팔팔 688 KOREAN BBQ & STEAMBOAT (YOOK PAL PAL) @ AMPANG

If you ask me are there any dishes that I don’t mind eating over and over again; it has got to be Korean cuisine!

The reason why Hanguk eumshik tends to have a firm spot in every Kimchi-lovers’ heart is that not only the culinary is abundantly served and vibrantly presented, but also plenty of nutritional values that it brings along that eventually promotes longevity with better health, akin to natural youth elixir.

And this round of gastronomy brings us to the ‘Little Korean Town’ of Kuala Lumpur- Ampang, where 육팔팔(Yook Pal Pal) located.

Compare to its usual peers, 육팔팔 not only served up a whole array of tantalizing Korean BBQ feast, but also steamboat course for those who is craving for soupy affair instead, as aptly reflected by its brand name; 688 Korean BBQ & Steamboat.

Simple, quaint set up reflecting the geniality of Hallyu, certainly allows one to feels its hospitality upon stepping in. Not forgetting some Korean entertainment program to up the beat too (=

So what are the menus that you can fix your craving here while waiting for your next vacation in Seoul? ^_^

SIGNATURE CHEESE PORK BBQ (MYR 69.90)
One of their reigning crown is this cheesy fiesta that goes heavenly well especially when eaten with tender BBQ pork slices. The richness of the cheese somehow blends in harmoniously when enjoyed with the savory taste of the nicely grilled pork meats. Besides that, the ring of the BBQ metal grill is also appetizingly filled up with assorted sides like kimchi, corns, garlic, eggs and scallions to spice up the grill pan further!

BEEF BBQ SET
For those beef lovers, this would be the ideal plate as it comes with various beef cuts; fresh beef ribs, marinated beef ribs and even woo seol gui; beef tongue!

TOPOKKI WITH CHEESE (MYR 23)
You will never go wrong with cheese, seriously! Haha…
Even when it is paired with Korean ricecake; tteokbokki in a sweet savoury sauce that is not too spicy and delightful.

YANG GALBI (MYR 35)
More marinated lamb meat you say? (=

HAEMUL PAJEON (MYR 27)
I have always enjoy pajeon, as it is rather versatile where it can be mixed with kimchi or seafood ingredients, rendering you a satisfying homey bites, Korean pizza? Hehe

HAEMUL JAPCHAE (MYR 35)
Not enough of seafood craving you say? Then have them tastefuly whipped up with the slurpylicious Korean glass noodles! Masshisoyo!

SAMGYETANG (MYR 35)
One of the most nutritional quintessential dish in Korean heritage- Ginseng Chicken. Also served with ginseng wine.

DOLSOT BIBIMBAP (MYR 23)
My fave staple food from the country. Easy to mix and match!

MARINATED OCTOPUS
Nakji! Also my all-time favourite bites whenever I’m in Korea. Always love the tangy bites of octopus especially the aroma once they are grilled, masshitta!!

Or something for sharing and rejoice with your friends around, then go for this hot pot of budae jigae!

KIMCHI HOT POT (MYR60- SMALL | MYR80- BIG)
A warm soupy pot exuberantly filled with meat, bean curd, enoki mushrooms, tteokbokki, seafood, and many more to satiate the palate around the table. The soup is also pleasantly flavoured with its homemade spice, giving you some lovely hot sensation at the end of the feast.

Overall, it was a joyful occasion of dining here with lots laughter and camaraderie shared around the table over mouthwatering Korean feast. Will be missing the cheese dishes for now I guess, while we head home with a happy tummy.
