EMPAYAR SEREMBAN SIEW POW @ AWANA SKYCENTRAL, RESORTS WORLD GENTING

Visitors to Genting Highlands can now expect vaster, interesting selections when it comes to dining options apart from the already F&B-inundated SkyAvenue at the upper hill.

One of them is none other than Empayar Seremban Siew Pow, which is no stranger to many of us here in Klang Valley. Well known for its freshly baked and piping hot siew pau a.k.a baked pastry with meaty filling originally from Seremban, this heritage oriental bakery shop has long expanded its radar in certain spots in Kuala Lumpur and now, has just included Awana SkyCentral as its latest outlet.

For those who finds Awana SkyCentral a rather new name and is wondering where is its exact location, it’s actually home to the Awana Transport Hub (Level 1) and Awana SkyWay (Awana Station, Level 4), with more than 20 dining, retail and service outlets spreading over Levels 2 and 3, to cater for customers who are on-the-go to have some quick, casual time to spare at the mid-hill.

So what’s in stored for your tummy at this latest outlet here?

Salted Chicken Rice Set (MYR 19.10)
Comes with juicily steamed chicken drumstick and a plate of vegetables lightly seasoned with soya sauce, just like the gemütlich way usually did at home. For those who are seeking for some comfort food, this can’t be wrong.

But the special highlight has got to be its signature prawn noodle where the prawn’s vein has been well managed out using their own unique proprietary methodology, allowing diners to enjoy the meal fuss-free and satisfyingly without the hassle of removing it themselves. I kind of liking this idea and feel that’s pretty thoughtful of them in fact.

And when the freshness of any seafood is certain, they are already heavenly on their own, and in this case, best paired with their house signature chili sauce that further accentuates the oceanic sweetness within, superb!
They called it this way of enjoying decapod crustaceans as 'pak cheok har', a.k.a Steamed Fresh Prawns.

Was told that the plan of having this signature sauce conveniently bottled for retail purchase is already in the pipeline, so do stay tuned.

Special Prawn Noodles (MYR 26.50)
Seeing this bowl of alluring warm pot instantly reminds me of my hometown quintessential dish- Hokkien Mee! By now, you should be able to guess where is my hometown then (=

Special Curry Prawn Pot (MYR 25)
Comes fragrantly cooked in a claypot of luscious curry gravy with assorted vegetables as well as its bouncy and huge prawns, suffice to cause anyone drooling from far- as the aroma is already wafting through the air way before it was served onto the table. Now can you imagine how wonderful this warm dish of robust flavour going to be when served with even just a plate of white rice? Pure simplicity as its best!

Special Laksa Prawn Nodles (MYR 25)
And if you are someone that can't forgo slurping in the tasty and flavorful curry broth together with the silky noodles, then this special laksa prawn noodles is one you mustn't missed. Served equally promising along with springy fresh prawns, crisp bean sprouts, fish cakes and also fried bean curd a.k.a. 'tau fu pok' which does a really good job in absorbing adequate curry broth, this definitely makes a hearty bowl of savoury indulgence undoubtedly.

No wonder all these are touted as their Chef’s Best recommendation as they are whole lots of toothsome bunch agreeably!

Fruits Pastry (MYR 32.65)
Assorted choices in convenient packaging that includes Pineapple, Coconut, Papaya and also Durian filling! Personally, I really enjoy the soft and buttery skin of the pastry for that means they are freshly baked instead of the usual bulk production from factory which more often than not rendering them a slightly harder texture to my liking. So yeah, these are good and my fave is always pineapple variant!

Black Sesame Egg Rolls (MYR 21)
Soft and flaky crispy, followed by eggy hint

And how could we leave without trying their iconic siew pau? This just can’t be happening! (=

Apart from these, there are still many other snacks, confectionery, desserts and other local products up on the shelves for you to choose from for a taste of local delights enjoyed somewhat 6,000 feet above the ground. They also make good souvenirs from friends and visiting buddies from afar too, so remember to check them out soon.  (Gosh, I’m now missing their fresh prawns again, duh!)

The Awana SkyCentral is connected to the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets (GHPO) by two link bridges, and now it offers more than just a transportation hub, as it is also the perfect place to make a quick pit-stop to eat, shop, and chill.
