2018 CNY MENU @ RUYI & LYN RESTAURANT @ BANGSAR SHOPPING CENTRE (BSC)








As the adage aptly goes, time really flies and with just a blink of the eyes, Ruyi & Lyn is now already into its third year thriving in the ever captivating dining scene of Klang Valley, ushering yet another prosperous New Year with its charming thematic creation for the “Wong Choy” year. And of course, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without raising chopsticks as high as possible to boost more good luck and prosperity in the year ahead.






In conjunction with Year of the Dog, the house maestro at Ruyi & Lyn, Chef James Ho, again has the guests mesmerized with his brilliantly created Yee Sang specially signifying the year of the Chinese animal zodiac- a cute smiley puppy adorably crafted to live up to the theme ultimately- “Wong Choy” Paws-perity Yee sang!

The Yee Sang combination was really a good one, appetizingly executed and tasted refreshing in every bites- thanks to chef’s unique sauce. Also, not forgetting the addictive nosh of house special- salted egg yolk crispy fish skin! Simply glorious as after a bite, you’re bound to hook on for more!




For champagne enthusiast, optional to have Moet Et Chandon Champagne Yee sang with Atlantic salmon and a 750ml bottle of Moet Et Chandon Champagne to jazz up the occasion.

Juicy Cod fish nicely glazed with honey for a hint of sweetness, to team up zestily with mango salsa.

This spicy soupy choice of menu although tad unparallel in common lunar dishes, was actually uber tantalizing for the unexplainable kick that it brought along with the piquant spiciness. It might be quite challenging to my tongue, I can’t help but to continue devouring in the nutritious soup with sweet fish fillet and accompanied greens that continues to tickle my tastebuds amusingly and very convincing too. Loving it till the last sip!

Pan- Seared lamb rack served with green salad and cauliflower cream



I must say, after the spicy and sour soup, my next favourite dish has got to be this lamb rack that were tastily marinated and skillfully grilled till tender perfection where flavours is evenly penetrated throughout the meat. Double thumbs up!

A must-have quintessential grub during Chinese New Year as it brings about auspicious significance to the Chinese community. Unlike glutinous rice cake sold elsewhere, this ‘nian gao’ version from the kitchen of Ruyi & Lyn is homemade and thoughtfully calibrated so that it won’t taste too sweet.

So, diet-conscious folks can indulge more without being much guilty. After all, it’s just once in a year, it wouldn’t do much harm right? (=

Comparatively, I find myself enjoying this house special product much more than the ‘nian gao’ :D

I love how light it is on my palate yet packed with aromatic filling of black sesame enveloped within the moist rice ball, daintily coated with a light, crispy layer on the outside. I think I can easily clear these crispy glutinous rice balls all by myself as they are really toohtsome, haha.


It felt just like yesterday when we were introduced to the unparalleled Omakase Cocktail creatively done by Zeff, the mixologist at Ruyi. We love his entire special and uniquely created concoction that never cease to surprise us. And Lavenda 10 remains our dainty favourite amongst all! (=

Tanqueray No10 Gin, Lavender Syrups And Passion Fruit
A dainty florally sweet cocktail made of Tanqueray 10 gin, lavender syrup, freshly squeezed Lemon, whole passion fruit before shaken with ice and pour into chilled Coupe Glass. Certainly an alluring drinks very much appealing to the fairer sex.

Besides the moreish lunar feast, not to be forgotten is the beautifully decorated space of Ruyi & Lyn that is exclusively set up with various artsy Oriental ornaments to welcome Chinese New Year much more fantastically with more blessing and happiness as well as great health to everyone.






Ruyi’s Chinese New Year Menu starts from MYR 138++ for 6-course meal (min 2pax) and MYR1,388++ onwards for 8-course meal in a bigger group of 10 pax.
Therefore, remember to make your reservation early to avoid disappointment as tables get taken up rather fast. So, wishing you guys an early and blessed wonderful Chinese New Year ahead and mirthful reunion with buddies and loved ones.
