TRAVEL | PERTH DAY 4 @ AUSTRALIA
It’s been 2 months since we had returned from Perth and now
the post is coming into Day 4 of our Aussie escapade, finally. It certainly not
an easy task to get all those memories penned down as all those pictures and writing
does require time and effort to get them assembled. Hopefully I’ll be able to
share them all completely soon before I could get back to resume my NZ trip which is still forever stagnant
at Day 5, haha.
So, we started off our Day 4 with wonderful visit to Steve’s
winery at Rockcliffe, where we
got to visit the wine making factory with all the mega machineries involved in
the production, before eventually you get to relax, sitting down at your cozy
couch while enjoying a tipples or two. After that, we proceed for some hearty
meals at Mrs Jones Café prior
to driving down to Pemby town after a quick pitstop at Tree Top Walk.

ROCKCLIFFE WINERY @ DENMARK WA

This affable amigo is one true-blue passionate wine connoisseur
who owns the splendid Rockcliffe vineyard tranquilly located in the peaceful
town of Denmark in West Australia.
Brief History on Rockcliffe Winery
The origin of
Rockcliffe was an 18 acre expanse of apple orchards planted early in the 1900’s
in the rich Scotsdale Valley region of Denmark in the Great Southern, Western
Australia. In the late 1980’s, a local family acquired the property for its
fertile soils and position for long afternoon sunshine with cool ocean breezes.
It was christened Matilda’s Meadow and the planting of dry grown vines
commenced. The Pinot and Chardonnay vines were the first planted in the
district in 1987.
MRS JONES CAFE @ DENMARK

A quick glance of the place, it was welcomingly pleasant at
first sight and I just wish we could stay a little longer. Interior setting was
kept minimalist but lovely; with some corner to keep children safely occupied
while the adults enjoying their meal.
No wonder this homey Mrs Jones Café was awarded the WA
WINNER of Restaurant & Catering Industry Association’s 2016 Awards in 2
categories; CAFÉ OF THE YEAR and CAFÉ RESTAURANT for Excellence in Western
Australia., bravo!
THE
TREE TOP WALK, VALLEY OF THE GIANTS @ WALPOLE, DENMARK
More stories here: http://bit.ly/TreeTopWalkTheValleyOfTheGiantsDenmark
A unique
place to experience the excitement of walking 40 metres high through the canopy
of the tingle forest while enjoying the majestic views of the wilderness core areas.
The Tree Top Walk offers a 600-metre walk with a gentle gradient that are still
suitable for both children and adults recreational stroll.
A light stroll would link Tree Top Walk
to the Ancient Empire boardwalk via an interpretative trail meanders across the
forest floor where you can get up close and personal with the 400-year-old forest
giants amidst Walpole Wilderness that has history linked back to the lost area
of Gondwana. How lush and gigantically they are!
PEMBERTON
BACKPACKERS YHA HOSTEL@ PEMBERTON, WA
More
stories here: http://bit.ly/PembertonYHA
So we reached our staycation for that evening at Pemberton Backpackers YHA Hostel which
we had reserved earlier prior to our Aussie trip. Check in time was a tad
delayed as the person in charge was away upon our arrival, so we had no choice
but to wait awhile before finally get to see our cozy and spacious cottage in
the quiet town!
So we got ourselves a private twin room, which eventually wonderfully
happened to be a whole cottage with several rooms! Of course we were happy to
share the lovely nook with other backpackers too, but we were happier when our
private room for 2 was more like a room for a family of 5! Haha…
THE CROSSINGS BAKERY@ PEMBERTON, WA
More stories here: http://bit.ly/TheCrossingsBakeryPemberton
Before we really left Pemby for Augusta, we dropped by
The Crossings Bakery to make it up back to my last night “endurance” from the
upset tummy- at least I did try some local delights right?
So we tried some of the inhouse special meaty pie that
was simply gorgeous, besides sweeter bites such as the berry long donut and lemon
custard, if not mistaken, all amounted to AUD 20.20. Besides getting those
pastries, we also ordered 2 cups of joe to go along- latte and WP’s pick-me-up
Long Black! :D
And so, we took home
some unforgettable memories of the people that we met in different places
around West Australia.
Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’
discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
And our travel journey continues....................
