VALENTINE’S CELEBRATING LOVE & HERITAGE, “BABA NYONYA DONDANG SAYANG”@ BIJAN BAR & RESTAURANT
As St. Nick’s jingle bell has just bid adieu to us,
now is time to ring the wedding bell (stress not, pun intended ^_^) to gather
all lovebirds, reminding them to again, cherish and love each other more, as
the days go by. So it’s prime moment of the year to show your utmost
appreciation to your beloved partner how much their presence matters to you as
he or she has transformed you till to date.
Whenever the topic of romance comes into the picture,
most of us will tend to have the more cliché dining choices in mind, such as Western
cuisine or French culinary- for epicurean who seeks for much deeper degustation
experience. Rather than merely joining the mainstream, why not create a more memorable
and unparalleled gastronomic evening by trying out something much closer to our
heart, being an Asian- our very own uniquely crafted Malay- Chinese Valentine’s
menu themed as “Baba Nyonya Dondang
Sayang”?
Baba Nyonya (eyebrow raised)? You asked…….
I’m not surprised though for it strikes my curiosity
the similar way too. Only after you have tasted it that you would be able to
really see it beyond the norm from just another trivial course. To simply put
it, you will never view Baba Nyonya cuisine the same way again under the adept
hands of the innovative Chef Razis
from Bijan
Bar & Restaurant Fine Malay Cuisine!
Coincidentally, it is also a double Valentine
celebration at Bijan
this year as the last day of Chinese New Year is also known as Chinese
Valentine’s Day, “Chap Goh Meh”. To commemorate these double halcyons of
idyllic moment, the Valentine menu will be available only on the 14th
and 19th February 2019.
Celebrating Love &
Heritage
“Baba Nyonya Dondang Sayang”
A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and soul of its people.
Cultures here in Malaysia have been a colourful melting pot whereby meeting and
mixing- such cultural assimilation exist since the very beginning of its
history and thence, defining Malaysia’s uniquely diverse heritage and
transforming of what the nation is today.
As Valentine takes place within the festive Chinese New Year celebration,
Bijan
will be presenting a menu that pays homage perfectly to the unique Malay and Chinese cultural marriage that when is
harmoniously fused is called- Baba Nyonya. Guests will then be treated to a
specially crafted menu inspired by Baba Nyonya influences in a picturesque
setting for a romantic excursion.
One of the exciting menu with an innovative twist on
traditional offerings is “Togetherness” whereby your palate
would be whimsically titillated by this seemingly common at the start but surprisingly
captivating towards the end- “Pan Seared
Scallops on Coconut Potato Puree Drizzled with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil &
Lemongrass Espuma & Budu Belacan Caviar, “A Match In Heaven” main course for her Kari Laksa Baba Nyonya Classic with Lobsters and for him the “Pan Seared Fermented Prime Australian Angus
Ribeye served with Roasted Smoked and Herbal Tricolor Rice”!
Towards the end, you would never see Malay cuisine the
same way again, especially with such a brilliant tweak that somehow resembles
the finesse of molecular gastronomy the Asian way.
