MOODY COW DESSERT CAFÉ @ TRANSFER ROAD, GEORGE TOWN

After just gotten back from covering the recent event of Starlight Carnival with Oktobest Hall at Resorts World Genting the week before, Pillow suggested that why not take another quick escapade locally in conjunction with the Diwali week? Needless to say, I jumped for joy at the idea affirmatively almost instantly when we were actually heading to the North- I mean finally, to the food haven which also happens to be my hometown too, hehe……..
As this plan was made rather impromptu like just the night before, we pretty much don’t have any itinerary on hand of which must-try in Penang. But I was lucky to have a great amigo whose profession is a Chef and also hails from the same hometown as me. So we leverage on his choice of fave places (=
I shall share the rest of the local ‘makan place’ after this speedy café hop. In fact, we came here as the last pit stop of the day after having some local delights including prawn mee, popiah, oyster omelette and fruit rojak :D They were just simply irresistible, yumzz!!
As you walk further into the premise, it got darker and dimmer. So shutterbug, you gotta ensure you have high ISO then :)
So Pillow left the cake choices to me. After some brief hesitation in a jiffy, we decided to go for the house famous best seller, namely Hybrid Madness (MYR 44).
Each components of the cake sounded as boldly as they were contradicting to each other, but ironically this unison didn’t turn out that worrisome. Instead, they seem to be complementing each other subtly in arriving at a mutual balance of nuance.
I mean, how not to wonder when you see the savoury anchovies which you would usually see in Nasi Lemak, was seen as your cake topping together with best ingredients to your porridge- salted egg and century egg! (=
The portion was rather huge to be honest and ideally could comfortably fit up to 3 pax. It was dense, rich and undeniably sinful. Only those die-hard cheese fans would truly rejoice in such decadent piece. Nevertheless, it posed quite a challenge for both of us to chow it down- especially with the many big century eggs daintily sitting at the base as if beckoning to us try to clear ‘em all, lolz……
It wasn’t my first time here but definitely for Pillow, as I had D’Rum during my last visit, which was an alcoholic-based slice. It was chocolaty and came with a smooth taste of rum and dark choc.
So similarly, we can’t finish it this time round either as there were only 2 of us and thus, sipping some hot tea would be the next best idea, haha.
Osmanthus for me and Lexie Lemongrass & Ginger for him, each at MYR 11.

Guess that’s all for the day and we then head back to the cozy mansion in preparation for a good, deep slumber at Deluxious Hotel, which is just a stone’s throw away from this café. Don’t worry, I shall be sharing those toothsome Penang hawker food recommended by my Chef friend soon.
Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ℒℴѵ
