Restoran SS2 Murni @ Petaling Jaya

Before feasting on Penang hawkers food, let’s allows the visual sense to first scroll through some local mamak fare but modernly-conceptualized recipes. I suppose this place, SS2 Murni, is no longer alien to many folks here especially those staying nearby SS2 as well as students from Malaya University even since  during the good old days.

This restaurant is known to be serving pretty decent fusion food generously at affordable price, ranging from Malay, Indian, Chinese, Western and also Italian cuisine to date, where regular creative culinary evolution is quite noticeable with addition of new dishes to their menu.

Mee Raja Chicken Chop (MYR 15)
One of the famous order at SS2 Murni is the Mee Raja, literally means Emperor Noodles.  This type of noodle comes fluffily springy and with some rich eggy aroma. It is stir-fried with some carrots, cabbage, crabstick filament and seafood, before assembled with sides like fried fritters, fries and choice of grilled chicken chop. While not many people who actually enjoy this Murni’s Classic Mee Raja for the more bland taste they claim, they appear quite nice and enjoyable to me.

Yea, i too agree the noodles are being disehd out pretty casually, lol.

Chicken meat is grilled till tender and still juicy within. Doused with some black pepper sauce completes this simpler hearty fusion meal.

 Glorious meat right? ^_^

Mee Goreng Chicken Chop (MYR 13)
While my other friend prefer to try out something else, which is more ‘mamak’ style, so Mee Goreng would be ideal, accompanied by Maryland Chicken  Chop. The chicken fillet is crisply fried till golden brown and remains succulent in the inside. Similarly, it is also garnished with some fried fritters, French fries, creamy Mayonnaise and one Sunny Side up to top it off.

Zig-zagging cream....

Honeydew Milk (MYR 4)
This blended drink seems normal and quite watery.

 Ruby Roots (MYR 5)
As seducing as it portrays, the concocted drinks of Beetroot and sourplum is quite diluted actually, with evident taste of the beetroot, overpowering the sourplum’s sourness to almost non-existent.

Overall, delicious food that is value for money but could be quite oily if you go for those ‘goreng’ style orders. If you don’t find some sinful meal once in awhile, then it shouldn’t be any issue. Service wise, rest be assured that the kitchen crew are pretty efficient and fast in handling your oreders.
