LWIN LEE | Malones Irish Restaurant & Bar @ Pavillion KL

After a spate of patronage to coffee places of late, finally we decided to head over here, at Malones, for a quick lunch fix on one lazy Friday noon :)

At first glance, this Irish gastropub might look more like a perfect gathering spot for punters on any EPL nights, where one could really indulge in their favourite pints gleesomely. No thanks to the elaborately decorated interior with myriads of vibrant flags, snooker game, accompanied by the stunning gorgeous lounge displaying the favorites of booze buffs. In hindsight, it does live up to its maxim of serving a  comfy and snug nook where one could actually let oneself loose from the hectic metropolis life and bask in the camaraderie of great buddies.

Anyhow, we were thrilled that they do serve authentic specialties to warm up our tummy with their scrumptious rendition of pork menu. And for this, three of us unanimously went for the recommended Granny’s Rosemarry Pork Chops, which was one of the many entrée sets for lunch menu during the weekdays. I mean, it won’t go wrong with any pork affairs right, or so we thought, but minus out the draft part as the day is still young…………. :P

For the lunch set, each main course came with salad or soup or the day with a soothing tea too, whether you opt to have it chill or hot.

I quite like the hot version of the tea, it’s very subtle and full of tea leaf fragrance, leading me to wonder if it’s of Ceylon tea. Quite engrossed in it in fact…………..

A hearty bowl of flavourful Chicken Soup to complete the meal.

Finally, here it comes, our meaty affair…...

Granny’s Rosemarry Pork Chops
A plate of overnight marinated pork chops, enhanced with rosemary herbs and assorted spices grilled to perfections, before served with mash potatoes, watercress and inhouse brown sauce.

The thickened bouillon goes really well with juicy meat and perfectly whipped up mushy potato. Meat was rather bouncy and textured, apart from being thoroughly marinated for a saporous kick. For those who prefer less chewy slab, you may inform the staff beforehand for a medium done preference. As for me, am already a happy foodie with this homey toothsome pork dish :)

Besides, we were also totally head over heels for its velvet potato spread that vows us with its impeccable creaminess amid the slight hint of cheesy palatal. Not grainy at all but simply heavenly! Thumbs up!

Bhíse go blasta!

Set at MYR 16.90 per pax, I would say it’s a pretty good deal to grab, plus wallet-friendly for any nearby white collars of Golden Triangle. That said, high chances we would be dropping by again for their other delectable menu then.

For some tossing session? Errr......may be some other time, hehe....

Let's cheers for now!
