LWIN LEE| NANA’S GREEN TEA @ ONE UTAMA
Thinking of where to go to fill up the 1 hour gap before the
start of latest release of Hobbit serial, we soon pay a visit to another outlet
of Nana’s Green Tea at One Utama
Shopping Mall.
Compare to its first enterprise at Mid Valley, this second
outlet poses a much more spacious environment, chic wooden interior design with
wide see-through glasses that allows natural lights illuminating the café. This
design has two side of coins; rather warm during a sweltry day but it’s
definitely good for food photography ironically, hehe.
After several experience with its famous and loveable Matcha
version dessert, I decided to try out its other peer of roasted Uji Matcha; Hoji-cha series.
HOJI “GATEAUX
CHOCOLATE” PARFAIT (MYR 19.80)
An artisan dessert started with a layer of Kanten jelly and
Hoji syrup then topped with soft served vanilla ice cream, generous layer of
corn flakes and garnished with a scoop of Hoji ice cream, Hoji Gateaux
Chocolate cake, Hoji bean paste, whipped cream and a drizzle of Hoji Syrup.
It has a milder palate with dulcet sweetness from the tea;
combination of toasty and nutty flavor, some very light chocolaty hint too, if I
may. Similarly, when it comes to the middle white layer of vanilla ice cream,
it gets rather saccharine like the green tea range. As for the gateux cake, it's tad too hard and stiff to my liking, but donsaeng seems to bask in the firm texture, hmmm.....alright, fair enough :)
Lucky to have called for this tea over another dessert, good
choice, dongsaeng = )
GENMAI-CHA
(MYR 7.80 PER POT)
Original blend of baked brown rice
and uji tea. The taste somewhat resembles corn tea that usually served at
Korean restaurant, mellow and soothing. No surprise for that similarity for it
is also known as Popcorn Tea that is made of Karigane-cha. This tea is acknowledged
for its roasty brown rice aroma that goes with a sweet and unique taste.
After this trial, guess I still miss
my Matcha series more and thence, for the next return to come, I shall stick with
Uji Matcha rendition like the Matcha “Warabimochi” Parfait, hehe.
