LWIN LEE | JEQ IN THE HOUSE @ SEKSYEN 17, PETALING JAYA

City folks especially those staying in the vicinity of Seksyen 17 are in real treat for there is a quaint café nearby, serving up a moreish dine and wine affair.

Overlooking the halcyon view of lush greeneries with unruffled bamboos, it’s indeed visually soothing that makes it the perfect oasis for you to unwind after a hectic and resourceful day.

A comforting alcove illuminated with natural sun lights.

Embarked on a mixture of rustic and wooden themed café, imbued with some Australia laid-back style, this simple yet chic setup surprises your taste buds with myriad rendition of whimsical recipes, crafted passionately by an exuberant team of experienced hands in coffee, baking, cooking and design, who are well-equipped to take on orders big and small.

Warming up our biological engines that Sunday morning were ……………

BIG BREAKFAST (MYR 24.90)
A homey plate equipped with foot-long sausage, fragrantly sautéed herbed mushrooms, crisply baked turkey ham, wobbly omelette and baked beans.

EGG BENEDICT (MYR 18)
A delish toastie that is munificently loaded with tasty baked turkey ham, gooey poached egg atop a generous helping of deliciously wilted spinach which still maintains its colour and texture.

Surely a wonderfully decadent brunch dish!

As for finger food, try pizza of the day from JEQ in the House!

JEQ PIZZA (MYR 18)
We liked the pizza for its unadulterated flavour and simplicity. A thin crusty base that includes a mound of fresh shredded ham, button mushroom, cheese and lots of herbs! Terrifically awesome!

Be warned, after a piece and you’re bound to crave for another one!

MUSHROOM CHICKEN POT PIE (MYR 16) –min 15 mins required upon ordered.
Another winner the crispy phyllo pastry topping, filled with warm and creamy sauce, juicy chicken cubes, corn and mushroom. The soup was of a delectable savory consistency where it is not too creamy nor under-flavoured. Thumbs up!

SPICY CREVETTE AGLIO OLIO (MYR 26)
Pan-fried spaghetti with seafood, sautéing garlic with extra virgin oil and chilli flakes for extra kick! The densely spiced seasoning reminds me of the fond Mr.Clam too. Tad challenging on the tongue but mouthwateringly worthwhile!

Alright, it’s about time to end the marvelous fête on a sweet note.

TIRAMISU (MYR 16)
The Tiramisu here is undoubtedly the bomb! Moist from every corner and decadent in every bites, the fluffy piece is further made much more indulgent with caramelized crushed almonds as well as macadamia for that added extra crunch! The lady fingers are also aromatically soaked in espresso rendering a pillowy soft cake enhanced with rum flavor. Superb!

Truly live up to its namesake, no doubt touted as one of the signature and JEQ in the House know just how to take the Italian dessert beyond the run of the mill.

All the confectionary are freshly made with love by affable Carol, who is the inhouse baker for JEQ in the House.

MACADAMIA CHEESECAKE (MYR 14)
Extra topping of my favourite macadamia nuts! So copiously pampering to the taste bud with the slightly roasted nuts on the bed of creamy and dense cheesecake. True lover of cheese would absolutely find joy in this pleasant contrasting nuance.

What’s better way to complement the sweet treats other than a good cuppa of freshly brewed coffee?

CAFÉ LATTE (MYR 9)

FLAT WHITE (MYR 10)

CAPPUCINO (MYR 9)

Proud Patrick with his treasure Common Man Coffee Roasters beans and Jason, the charismatic owner of the café.

GREEN TEA LATTE (MYR 10)
Who we have now? Mike Wazowski from Monster Inc in the house!

HOT CHOCOLATE (MYR 10)
An all-time favourite heart-warming chocolate indulgence!

ESPRESSO BOMB (MYR 16)
Let’s welcome the new kid on the block!

Creative!

It’s recommended to sip through it patiently over a period of time as each layer of melted espresso coupled with the chocolaty base, gives arise to different kind of subtle enjoyment..

Or have a quick v60 brew for the ultimate enjoyment!

The nicety of a stellar cup of V60 drip is very much depends on the barista's skill. Precision during dripping process is very important hence, pouring kettle is being used in order to get a balanced cup of java

For that reason, diners at JEQ in the House can be assured of getting a good cup of Joe under the good hands of the Patrick, an amiable barista who is camera-shy but nonetheless a maestro when left unhampered with his gorgeous coffee roaster at the beverage station. (Hope you didn’t get stressed up much by the lense of this aspiring foodie-paparazzi, lolz….)

For wine enthusiasts, JEQ in the HOUSE does offer a decent array of premium South African wine, specially hand-picked by Jason and his comrades.

House wine currently are sold by bottle. Feel free to reach out to Jason if you require any wine suggestion. He is a very hospitable host and will be more glad than happy to assist you.

Red Wine Hahn Winery Pinot Noir California 2012

White Wine Rustenberg Stellenbosch Chardonnay 2012

To toast happily over a few pints, you have the Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier, the word oldest premium beer brewery.

Or just to clear the throat with some sparkling natural mineral water, Hildon Sparkling & Still Premium Mineral Water is conveniently available on the shelves. Another great alternative to Tau Spring Water.

Every tête à tête moment here is certainly a reposeful one over here at JEQ in the House. Melodious tunes that serenades from the background intermittently has non-stop captivating us with its vintage charms and coziness as exuded by the ambience of this chill-out place. As it has just joined the neighbourhood recently in early January 2015, patrons can expect more interesting menu in the pipeline which are due to delivered out soon.

So if you also would like to pamper yourselves both palatably and sensuously as a respite from the hustling metropolis life, do remember to check out this place soonest before it gets discovered by more curious cats and eager beavers of the town!

Cheers for now and Carpe Diem!  ❤ℒℴѵ

  3. When getting a regular passport will take more than 24 hours, an Emergency passport is necessary. The passport may not be valid for entry into the country because it has been stolen, lost, or expired. Compared to regular tickets, they feature fewer pages and are more compact. You may get them through an expediting service, a passport office in your area, or a consulate in another country.
