LWIN LEE| WOOD & STEEL @ TTDI, KOTA DAMANSARA
Pioneered by designer Ierfan and succeeded by younger
brother, Adam, the art and furniture themed cafes are co-managed at different
outlets. Adam would often be seen at Kota Damansara outlet whereas Ierfan would
be maneuvering the business at the TTDI neighborhood along with the good aide
of his friendly wife, Sarah. Sarah would be lending a hand at the kitchen for
hot dishes whilst her mother in law would be ensuring the QA of the homemade
cakes delivery. So basically, it’s a family-run business. How cool and
warmhearted endeavour is that!
The joint at TTDI or Taman Tun is the second outlet after its
successful foray at Kota Damansara previously. Having been in operation since
15 September 2014 as vividly recalled by Sarah, business has been flourishing
and now the kitchen have to be managed by 5 chefs who man the savory meals
ranging from appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, pastas to desserts and coffee.
Other than the ice cream, most of the food here and inhouse curated, thus
diners could really expect some awesome and one-of-its-kind culinary renditions
created in the inventive way.
For the beverage selections, we were served with dainty cup
of Hot Chocolate, refreshing Virgin Mojito and not to be missed, their house
blend coffee of 4 regions, Cappuccino.

Freshness of food is of highly emphasis for they believe in
serving customers comfy and scrumptious food infused sincerely with their
inhouse recipe as they whip up most of the ingredients and sauces from scratch.
Therefore, diners are assured of unparalleled dining moment in every flavourful
plates that comes by.

TEMPURA BUTTER CREAM
LINGUINE (MYR 21)
Crème based linguine
cooked in an Asian style served with deep fried tempura prawns and calamari,
tastily and fulfilling double kill!
The linguine is cooked al
dente, with each strain is evenly coated with the saporous cream dressing that
could be unrestrainedly addictive with its enticing spicy kick from the cili
padi (Bird’s eye chili). Cleverly crafted with heavy dose of fragrant curry
leaves together with its spiced battered fried juicy prawns and chewy calamari
rings, this is one recommended dish that you should go for whenever dropping
by.
It might be a tad creamy
to some people as milk cream is part of the major ingredients to inject some
savory sweetness to it. For that reason, you might want to opt for sharing, but
nevertheless, it really warms the cockles of our hearts. Ahem, this plate is so
lusciously palatable that this jeune
fille could actually handle
it all by herself!
Certainly not a cliché you
would see elsewhere.
CLUB SANDWICH (MYR 12)
Full-flavoured sandwich
loaded with turkey strips and hearty greens served on lightly toasted bread,
topped with French fries on the side.
For those who are looking
to trim calories, this plate surely suits the purpose. The toothsome toasties
are served understatedly with assorted greens such as lettuce, tomatoes,
cucumber, cheese, ham and sandwiched between fluffy bread, not forgetting its
eclectic choice of home-calibrated dressing; honey mustard sauce. It tastes
light enough yet very flavorous, unlike the usual mundane rich mayo choice. It
provides pleasant bites throughout and accompanied by chunky cut of French
fries which is also lightly dashed with some herbs that beautify the overall
enjoyment.
Soon, the dessert greets
us before wrapping up the gratifying ritual.
CINNAMON TOAST (MYR 13)
