LWIN LEE | KAJAK-KAJAK KOREAN BBQ RESTAURANT @ KUCHAI LAMA

Embarked with a complete grill setting and nestled at the ever brisk neighbourhood of Kuchai Lama, is where you would find this tantalizing Korean BBQ restaurant, funkily named as KAJAK-KAJAK, offering deliciously grilled meat at a truly affordable price.

Maneuvered in full force since February this year by food-lover manager-cum chef, fondly known as Ah Siang, all the Korean dishes are personally tried-and-tested before launched full-fledged to the customers.

All ginseng used are sauced from Korean itself, with beef and lamb produce are gotten from Australia and New Zealand respectively.

Not to be worried over grilling and cutting the meats timely and appropriately as the staff would help you on it, so diners gets to enjoy their Korean barbequed meat comfortably and conveniently. So leave it to the expert! (=

With the friendly owner, Ah Siang (+

The menu offered here are deemed very extensive, covering from the common Korean snack and staple food to heartily grilled meat. All the meat are really tender and juicy, thoroughly marinated and none of them are disappointing. I have always love samgyeopsal and would continue to do so (=

Among the ala cartes that you could choose to accompany your grilling session are……………

HONEY COMB PORK (MYR 16.90)

SPICY PORK BELLY (MYR 14.90)

MUSHROOM CHICKEN (MYR 13.90)

SMOKED DUCK (MYR 26.90)
Thickly cut and very flavourful.

KONG BUL SAMGYEOPSAL (MYR 31.90 FOR 2-3PAX)

CHICKEN BBQ (RM11.90)

BOMB PORK (MYR 14.90)
One of the must-try plates at Kajak- Kajak. Bouncy and bounteously meaty! The butter slice really spice up the whole pleasure.

Trust me, it's really meaty and flavourful! Every bites is just so satisfying......you just gotta try this ( =

LAMB BBQ (MYR 18.90)

AUSTRALIAN BEEF (MYR 26.90)

PRAWN (MYR 25.90)
The huge crustacean are really fresh, huge and comes with springy meats!

ROLL PORK (MYR 2.90)
This particular thin cut is the best seller where the meat roll is grilled until crispy as depicted in Korean- kajak kajak means  crispy! Now it reminds me of those Western baked crispy bacon, haha…..

Krukk Krukk Krukkkk..........

Now, let’s neglect the other hot dishes, shall we? ^_^

KOREAN FRIED NOODLE (MYR 24.90)
Also fondly known as japchae

DDUKBBOKI (MYR 16.90)
Not a usual huge fan of stewed tteokbooki other than to have them grilled, but this one here has me head over heel, jinjja masshisiyo!

SWEET & SPICY PORK (MYR 22.90)
If you still can’t have enough of meat, hehe…..

KOREAN STEAMED EGG (MYR 7.90)
A mild helping of salt would make this dish better palatably

GINSENG CHICKEN SOUP (RM26.90)
As salubrious as its clear  soup projected

FRIED CHICKEN (MYR 26.90)
Wow, surprisingly these fried snacks are one promising one! Potentially stand up as a tight rival to the raved Kyo Chon Fried Chicken

DOLSOT BIBIMBAP (MYR 16.90)
An all-time favourite- hot stone pot rice!

Pleasantly, soup is not too spicy but goes really well with a bowl of rice, daebak!

KIMCHI SOUP (MYR 14.90)

GREEN ONION SEAFOOD PANCAKE (RM18.90)
Homey Korean pancake- what a lovely pajeon it has been!

SPECIAL BACON RICE (MYR16.90)
Another fantastic revolutionized way of eating your rice, not sushi, not temaki, not gimbap but bacon rice! Rather interesting as each bite of the mouthful ball allows you to enjoy the melted fragrant fats which tickles your taste bud amusingly.

It’s prime time to really clear the throat and quench the thirst with some cooling beverages.

Special recipe from the owner, Cola with salt and lemon, was rather skeptical at first but oh yeah, it’s good! Thanks for the funky idea!

DEMISODA (MYR 4)
Choose from apple, peach or lemon flavor

GRAPE JUICE (MYR 4)
There are really chunks of grapes inside the canister, and the best part is, they are smoothly sipped through the usual straw too, slurps!

A novice drinker? Fret not as there is something instored just for you!
Lower in VBA but equally tantalizing!

FRUIT SOJU (MYR 39)
Choose from apple, ginseng or lemon.

Sagwa- sweet!

Love the apple soju most for its fruity aroma. The ginseng soju is actually not bad too, and it’s more health-promoting as well. A bottle of fruit soju would be given complimentary with spending over MYR 120.

Ginseng & Apple

To sum up, meat lovers would definitely relish in it. What I like about this establishment is that they really put their heart and soul into the food preparation rendering a remarkable repast as well as effective customer service. Owner of the shop is often seen very proactive in coming up with various yummy dishes injected with own uniqueness along the way, such as those home-marinated sauces meat for each meat types and his passion is simply contagious- the best part is, all the food are really mouthwatering, no doubt on that. Have a taste of yours one of these days.

Cheers for now and Carpe Diem!  ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
