Ahoy, Steaks & Lobster!





As it proudly beckons, it’s the perfect place where you get to satiate your craving for the best of both worlds- luscious steaks charbroiled to perfection according to your preferred doneness as well as juicy huge crustaceans imported from Canada.







Even it has only been in operation for about 4 months now since 8th August ago, talks about this new humble restaurant has been going around, on how earnest the food served here is and one doesn't really have to fork out a fortune in order to relish in good, quality repast, passionately crafted to you by the three musketeers of Nic, Lucas and Sean. 





Diners can rest be assured of the optimum freshness of the ingredients used here as only live Canadians lobsters are sourced, with each weighing at approximately 800gm each, whilst all beef produce are sought from Halal-certified supplier before aged inhouse.

Fluffy sesame buns are served complimentary to keep diners accompanied while they wait for their orders to e delivered in a jiffy.

They have an inhouse baker to prepare their breads freshly on a daily basis, and then served with special cinnamon butter(first of its kind) that entails a hint of buttery sweetness towards the end. Certainly a good twist from the usual common garlic butter spread.



Occasionally, patrons can take a quick glimpse from the chef in action; at their open kitchen concept located at the upper floor.







MUSHROOM SOUP
A bowl of hearty homey soup freshly made from scratch, delighting your palate with a motley of assorted mushrooms bits together with an aromatic touch of truffle oil, served alongside soft charcoal bread.




LOBSTER & CRAB CAKES (MYR 28)
Battered bite-sized creamy lobster and crab cakes that is moist in the inside but slightly crispy at the exterior, served with marinara sauce for some added tanginess. Does it remind you of Thai Fish cakes too? ^_^






FRIED PORTOBELLO FRIES (MYR 19)
For those of you seeking for a more exciting starter, then this lightly battered Portobello mushrooms is definitely good to go when served with smoky sriracha aioli. The sauce could be mild hot to the tongue, but i personally enjoy the mushroom fries on its own, that come liberally juicy with a great, soft texture which easily gets you hooked on fore more. Hmm, a pretty interesting version from the ubiquitous potato fries available elsewhere.






Soon, it's time to titillate the taste bud further with the trademark of the house!


SIGNATURE FLAMING LIVE LOBSTER (MYR 110- HALF, MYR 205- FULL)
Charbroiled lobster flamed with homemade Ebiko Aioli alongside zesty guacamole potato salad.




Chunky muscular  textures, slurps!!

The chunky lobster meat is firm and sweet at the same time, greeting your palate with gentle tinge of smokiness from the flaming process. The inhouse prepared savory ebiko aioli also works out well  hand in hand with the succulence of this seafood that it has to offer. We opt for the half portion in hope to leave some space for its many other notable recipes too.





GRILLED LIVE LOBSTER WITH LEMONGRASS SAUCE (MYR 98- HALF, MYR 195- FULL)
Served with aromatic lemongrass sauce (or locally more familiarly known as percik sauce), this new kid of the block is to stir up some excitement to the palate with some light spiciness from our local fragrant spice- lemon grass, rendering it a livelier Asian twist.






Under their introductory menu, there still gonna be lots of tantalizing lobsters dishes that are dished up in various ways. Same goes to the steak where we were preempted in anticipation that more inventive toppings such as blue cheese et cetera are already in the pipeline and is coming up real soon.






GRASSFED TRUFFLE RIBEYE- 300gm+ (MYR 72)
Charbroiled ribeye steak topped with French truffle paste and melted cheddar.




When the cow is grassfed, it appears much juicier, more tender and full flavoured at the same time, due to higher fat content (of the good types). Skilfully done medium to the right tenderness, this fare appears simply fabulous and a pure bliss to any epicurean.





Time to slow down the evening with some decadent delights to wrap up the gastronomy on a sweet note.

SIZZLING BROWNIES & ICE CREAM (MYR 22)
Steaming hot plate essentially filled up with chunks of crunchy brownies, buttered walnuts, and vanilla ice cream, sizzled with chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and fresh cream.





The idea of adding the vanilla-scented cream and milk chocolate are really a brilliant one as it balances out the overall taste without being too cloying with sweetness, and simultaneously getting rid of any overly smoky crust of the sizzled brownies.





Another new addition to the family, CHURROS (MYR 18)!!

The traditional Spanish dessert here has been executed pretty well; with a lighter and less denser recipe that gives arise to a much  more pilowy-soft nuance, complemented with a pleasant caramelized coat on the outside and served along with a scoop of  vanilla ice cream and some sprinkles of almond flakes, yum!





In a nutshell, Steaks & Lobster has indeed successfully poised itself encouragingly as an uber cozy and friendly neighbourhood restaurant that are loved by all- be it local folks, near and afar, or expatriates as well, and yet reasonably priced.
