ROOST KL @ JALAN TELAWI, BANGSAR

Spearheaded by 3 amigos whose friendships transcends culturally- Danish Chef Albert Frantzen, Taiwanese partner Tung Wei and Malaysian pal, Priscilla, ROOST has embarked on honest flair healthy and sumptuous repast since 4 years ago at Bangsar, which perfectly befitting their  'from-farm-to-fork' philosophy in delivering only the best and freshest to its guests.

Chef Albert

The cozy restaurant is daintily adorned with resplendently colorful cushion, sleek chairs and tables. Amongst them, the sliced cushion captured my interest the best with their unique circular design from the tedious production, all homely crafted by Albert’s mom using 100% wool and dye.
Serene interior accompanied us throughout the dining session, which is simply a bliss!

On why hornbill is chosen as its iconic brand, Priscilla says that this fauna truly represents the identity of Malaysia- so it naturally relates to everyone here. The hornbill murals are individually hand drawn by Albert’s father before printed out. Each painting is different, thence personal touch in every masterpiece.

APPLE WOOD SMOKED DUCK BREAST (MYR 20)
Browned butter onion puree and pomegranate

DUCK LIVER PATE (MYR 18)
Tomato jam and toasted bread
* Would be changed to chicken liver pate and wild honey soon.

PAN SEARED RED SNAPPER (MYR 38)
Crispy polenta, cabbage, fennel and herbs

MANGROVE CRAB RAVIOLI (New item)
Homemade ravioli served with fresh cheese in crab and prawn bisque.

FRESH JERSEY MILK PANNA COTTA (MYR 20)
Coconut and passion fruit

It’s terrific and wobbly-good! Why? Simply because very minimum gelatin is used in this Italian dessert as they stay true to its roots- to roost with honest and sumptuous repast.

Coffee is not missing from the menu by the way (=

Roost is serious in serving up homey recipes and one that really celebrate the ingredients. It’s an earnest establishment that served from the heart, travels down to the tummy of yours.

Some head ups here!
New menu would be coming up very soon this Apr 15th, so stay tuned for more updates!
