MEATY AFFAIR| THE BLUE COW CAFÉ @ PLAZA DAMAS, SRI HARTAMAS

Missing the good old homey foods back in Australia? Then The Blue Cow Café is one honest-to-god oasis where you could fix that craving for that little yearning of yours.

First brought to Malaysia nearly 10 years ago by its Australian founders, one could actually come to purchase their preferable cuts of meat apart from dining here. Most produce are imported from the original land itself, with sausages and meat patties are all freshly made in house, so one is reassured that all grubs dished out are of the best and authentic in its own way, preserving the most au naturel taste of the ingredients.

What’s better way to kick start your feast of the day with some homey house-crafted soups first?
No presence of MSG, preservatives or artificial flavouring as all are made from scratch. Even all the bread and buns are freshly made here too!

SOUPS (Mini- MYR7, Bowl- MYR 12)

RICH PUMPKIN SOUP (Mini- MYR7, Bowl- MYR 12)
Very flavourful with rich pumpkin sweetness with some hint of spice. Love the Parmesan chip!
Say what? Yeah, it's the parmesan cheese that has been given a quick bake, awesome!

Ah, if you are keen to have more spicy kick to it, you might want to give another try at Closer Kitchen Espressp Bar for its unique rendition of Chili Roasted Pumpkin Soup (=

HEARTY PEA & HAM SOUP (Mini- MYR7, Bowl- MYR 12)

SPICY TOMATO & BACON SOUP (Mini- MYR7, Bowl- MYR 12)
Tad spiciness to sort of titillate your palate even more

CREAMY MUSHROOM SOUP
Personal fave amongs all! Simply aromatic, sumptuous with delightful, aromatic mushrooms bites!

LARGE PLATTER (MYR 115)
Constructed of 2 sausages, 2 kebabs, 1 rump steak, 1 pork steak, 1 lamb chop, 1 burger patty, bacon and 3 side dishes, of which we had corn cob, coleslaw and fresh salad.
Ideal for 3 to 5 people sharing.

This definitely makes the best choice for those seeking for a true meaty indulgence!

CHILI CORN CARNE (MYR 27)
Slightly spicy minced beef and bean chili, served with rice, corn chips and sour cream, reminds me toothsome nachos indirectly (=

SHEPHERD PIE-BEEF (MYR 20)
Rich beef stew, topped with fluffy mashed potatoes, finished with cheese. It was a deliciously baked with juicy fillings underneath the soft and mushy coating on the top.

PORK RENDANG (MYR 22)
A unique twist of local favourite for the swine lovers, served with rice, pickles and fried egg. Not too bad a play, but would be even better if it’s spicier, hehe.

New dishes in the house- those yummy schnitzels!

CRUMBED PORK WITH SPINACH CHEESE
Succulent slab of nicely breaded meat, deep fried till golden brown and served with coleslaw and mashed potato. The mashed potato was good as it also comes with some bacon bits for added texture.

CRUMBED PORK CORDON BLEU
A lighter version I would say which greets you with sides like potato salad and steamed vegetable besides the succulent crumbed cordon bleu.

Of course, some chillers to cool down the throats

LEMON LIME SODA (MYR 9)

CAPPUCCINO CARAMEL SMOOTHIE (MYR 14)

ICED COFFEE FLOAT (MYR 10)
Apparently, this is the signature of many Australians enjoying their cuppa with some dash of creamy smoothness.

So remember to swing by to get your freshest cut for your house occasions or better still, dine in hassle-free and be amused by their house meaty recipes.
