VILLA JU BAKERY @ DAMANSARA UPTOWN

After another yummy return at Ampersand, we felt that the night was still young, and so we decided to walk across the street and headed towards one nearby Korean bakery for our sweet tooth craving (or was it only me? ^_^ )

By the time we arrived, we were still rather full to the brim from the awesome ribs feast we indulged earlier on, and so, a bowl of bingsu shouldn’t be too tough to handle, or so we thought…………

Anyway, when the many raved about Korean shaved ice desserts finally arrived, we were quite shocked as it came pretty massively intimidating for 3 pax, what’s more for 2 petite foodies to handle it. Nevertheless, we still dunk into it the best we could with a mixed feeling………….anticipating and bewildering at the same time (=

MILK INJEOLMI -인절미 빙수 (MYY 27.90)
A bowl of very finely shaved ice that was as light as ethereal wind when it laid on your taste bud, before melted off almost immediately and leave behind a trail of soft milkiness. The glittering Azuki beans actually complemented well with its light sweetness to the shaved ice as well as the nutritious injeolmi powder.

인절미- In fact, that was the primary reason when I chose this from the many dessert selection. I had always love the subtle fragrance of the roasted soya beans- slightly nutty but delightfully powdery. The cubes of tteok- rice cakes, also added a different texture to it; bouncy and chewy at the same time for more jovial indulgence.

Previously a friend of mine had given a positive feedback on the Injeolmi Bingsu here when I told him that I had a yummy experience for the same dish over at HanbingKorean Dessert at Bangsar. So, he recommended here too. Personally, I might still go for the former one- due to more generous toppings of the injeolmi, hooray! (=

While enjoying our sweet bowl of indulgence, Descendants of the Sun drama was also airing at the same time, so doubled up the enjoyment as watched and dived into our Hallyu moment...............

This modern Korean delicacy is highly popular nowadays among both young and old, while still guarding its classic identity in a humble way! Best enjoyed especially during the scorching hot days to kill off the heat in a jiffy.  Jalmogotseumnida!!
