TRAVEL DAY 2- PART 1| 5D 4 N @ HONG KONG & MACAU

After an accomplished and calories-burning on the first day of my maiden travel to Hong Kong, we then happily made Macao as our second pitstop the very next day.

But first and foremost, after waking up from the cozy crib at Central, we first got our tummies filled up first at Wai Kee Congee Shop before starting our excursion ‘oversea’ (=

Preserved egg and pork congee (HKD 19)
Chinese Donuts (a.k.a ‘Yau Char Koay’- HKD 8)

No wonder people say that Hongkie porridge is way nicer- and I’m now attesting to it! It was a smooth, warm bowl of soup rice that easily kicks start your day wholesomely in the nutritious way. Our order came with minced pork and springy, fresh century egg, accompanied by the must-have Hong Kong fritters- ‘Yao Char Koay’ to complete the meal, after which, we headed straightway to Shun Tak Centre to board the ferry to Macao.

Quite a nice vintage spot-on at Morrison Street.

And we were lucky to catch the noon trip just in time. The fare is HKD 164 per adult.

Upon reaching the Macao harbour, lots of colorful of buses were seen awaiting the tourists from across the ocean to ride them over to the respective casinos! And we took the bus designated for Grand Lisboa as our main aim is to visit the Ruins of St. Paul’s! But first, let’s go towards the direction of Senado Square that eventually would lead us to the heritage ruins.

It was certainly a sultry day ahead, much more hotter than in Malaysia!
But it’s definitely good news for shutterbugs right? So, sacrifices were inevitable!

And so we passed by the famous bakeries here- Pastelaria Koi Kei and got ourselves pampered with uber taste Poutuguese Tart (HKD 9), freshly made on the spot. Same goes to the chicken floss rolled pastries in the Koi Kei shop too.

Subsequently, we passed by St. Lawrence Church and thus, paid a quick tour inside the beautiful church that also hosting Lady of Fatima. I’ve always love the Victorian design of church and the calming ambiance that comes with its white theme.

So much so we were relishing in the merry atmosphere and aesthetic buildings, but the scorching hot weather was too much for us unfortunately. That’s when we decided to hop on our next destination- the much awaited Venetian City of Macao!

Equally gonna be lots pictures to be shared, so I shall adjourned them for awhile and shall greet you guys soon in Macao Trip Part 2- signing off at 2am! (=
