BT RESTAURANT & BAR @ PLAZA 33
Upon stepping into the restaurant, a sense of majestic vibes
slowly surrounds you especially when sighting the huge, knightly giant horse
that is placed adjacently to the bar upon entrance, besides the cozy violet
coach genially beckoning from the nook.
Essentially, BT Restaurant & Bar transports you to the land of
spice where authentic Thai cuisine is intermixed with other culinary art, passionately prepared by Thai chefs and served
to amuse your discerning tastebud under this “House of Thai”. They take great pride in preparing
traditional fresh food but beyond merely Thai cuisine itself, showcase food with integrity, just as they would do back home.
Everything is made using fresh ingredients, made to order, and
made from scratch especially their unique sauces. Expect some intricate
interplay between Thai classic cuisine and local specialty cooking techniques,
fusing artful flavor balance and full bounty of tropical herbs aroma. After
all, these are the quintessential characteristic that makes Thai food special
right? (=
Elegantly set in a dim lighting that sensuously illuminates the
space with an air of genteelness, one would definitely be swarmed with
welcoming tranquility of the environment, while being ushered amiably to your teak wood table by the attentive staff. Not forgetting that the interior is also
artfully adorned with various paintings significant to the usual daily life in
Thailand itself, lending some aesthetic touch to the refined ambiance.
While waiting the meals to be served, I particularly enjoy
appreciating the painted facets of the daily routines of ordinary Thai folks.
CRISPY MUSHROOM
SALAD
Deep fried crispy mushroom served with onion, lemon grass, chilli and
BT special tom yum dressing. The dressing is rather unique tasting, comes with mild
spiciness that got mellowed down with its slight piquancy. Goes appetizingly
well with the fried mushrooms.
CRISPY QUAIL
Deep fried quail marinated with special BT spices. I find the marinade
tad tart to my liking, perhaps suits patron with a savoury spice palate. Crispy
on the skin with decent meat layer underneath.
STEAMED SEABASS
Thai style steamed seabass with lime, garlic and chili. The fish
is really fresh, juicy and tenderly flaked off as you fork in effortlessly. The
clear gravy is very appetizing yet refreshing at the same time with its lime
sourness, goes really well with a plate of white rice. There are chillis but
fret not as the level of spiciness can be tuned down according to your
preference, just inform the waiter beforehand when he or she is taking your
order.
Steaming hot seabass, slurps! |
KAILAN WITH SALTED
FISH
Stir fried kailan with oyster sauce topped with deep fried salted
fish. One of the nearest Chinese dish that I can relate here. Simple yet
unassumingly comforting, albeit the salted fish taste is not so apparent here.
Nevertheless, this is one my homey fave pick after the mouthwatering steamed
seabass earlier on.
SALMON STEAK
Thick slab of Norwegian grilled salmon steak with panaeng curry
sauce served with eggplant and blue rice. Daintily executed with vibrant
presentation. Would be good if the salmon steak is 80% cooked, as I prefer it
to be moister and softer.
MANGO STICKY RICE
Classic and popular sweet sticky rice with coconut milk and fresh
mangoes. I like how the glutinous rice is rather rich in texture here- where
you could actually enjoy the springy bites, paired with sweet mango slices. Definitely
an iconic sweet platter that not to be missed!
Hot lemongrass drink (without sugar) to clear down the throat
after the feast..........
.......... or some quick tipples of booze while accompanied by the live band.
So for those of you who are yearning for some hearty fete of a
true blue tropical oasis that is beyond Thai cuisine, hop over to BT Restaurant & Bar soon!
