{ X } COFFEE @ CUBE 1, ISETAN THE JAPAN STORE, LOT 10, KL

At the point of writing this post, it’s not my first time returning to { X } Coffee, to try out their signature hand brew coffee from a wide array of single origin beans, roasted by the established Maruyama Coffee, Nozy Coffee, Hoshikawa Café and Glitch Coffee & Roasters.

Various coffee beans from the global region are available with different roasting profile to suit each individual palate. For someone like me who has always enjoyed the fruity and floral notes like Ethiopian beans, Aricha Natural from Glitch Coffee & Roasters suits me best. Comes daintily with notes of strawberry, rose hip and red wine (oh, wine! Somehow my eyes tend to grow brighter whenever the wine word hits me, hehe) for a rounder mouthfeel, it simply makes a smooth and crisp kind of coffee enjoyment.

Ethiopia - Aricha Natural
Lighter Light Roast
Paper Filter (hence, no coffee oil)
Strawberry, Rose Hip, Red Wine, Round Mouthfeel
Roaster: Glitch Coffee & Roasters

For those yearning for a slightly bolder sensation, then perhaps Brazil’s Sao Judas Tadeu from Nozy Coffee roaster would fit the bill. Unless you are really looking for Darker dark roast methodology, this medium dark roast single origin will give you hints of heavier body of chocolate taste.

Brazil- Sao Judas Tadeu
Medium Dark Roast
Gold Filter (hence, with coffee oil & sediments due to filter holes)
Chocolate, heavy body
Roaster: Nozy Coffee

{ x } coffee was established to serve high quality coffee from different kind of coffee roasters worldwide. They adopt multi-roaster concept as they believe and wish people could see that actually coffee can be interpreted in many ways – not just a bitter and strong beverage.

By the way, don’t forget that cute, pinkish cup sleeve as that would entitle you a special rebate (MYR 10 - MYR 20 off) on your admission fees for the cherry blossom and Japanese cuisinefestival, “Flavour of Hanami”where it will features exhibition and live presentation and food tasting from 4 renowned Japanese chefs, happening from 21st January to 25th March 2017, at 3F, CUBE_1, ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur, the same floor as { x } Coffee too.

Thanks to the friendly barista Min Choong who don’t mind entertaining some questions on hand brew coffee conundrum from this curious amateur.

Certainly looking forward to coming back to this cozy bookstore-concept nook again, to try out it other brewing method like the Siphon, but for now, I’ll be hanging out more often at my usual caffeinehideout (Those who has been checking out my food-trail instagram would surely figure out that café easily, hehe)

Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
