TRAVEL | NEW ZEALAND DAY 2

Queenstown

Coming into our second day in New Zealand, we’re actually pretty anticipating it and looking forward to this rather impromptu trip, hopefully will go smoothly.

Queenstown

As we’re flying off to Queenstown via Air New Zealand, we need to go over to Domestic Departure which is actually some distance away from the main Auckland International Airport. But fret not, there will be a GREEN shuttle bus available meant for this internal transfer. So just make sure you arrived before the boarding time or earlier if you have luggage to check in.

You could opt to check in online or on the spot by scanning the barcode in your pre-booked flight ticket at the designated machine. Just hover the code under the scanner and your details will be automatically read before your actual boarding pass is printed out (and also luggage tag should you have check in luggage on hand too, the weight starts from 23kg)

After which, we headed to some cafes nearby for some quick caffeine-fix at D Bach Café and Take Off Espresso.

After about 2 hours, we finally touched down at the much more visually appealing city of Queenstown!

Queenstown
With excitements exuberantly filled within us, we went to get our Toyota Corolla from Go Rentals, Queenstown Airport branch. Service was swift and fast, not forgetting the amiable staff too. Tēnā koutou!

Without further ado after brief checking on the car fitness, we immediately kick start our maiden journey to the central down and grab some must-have signatures such as the Fergburger!

 Fergburger

We really devoured the lusciousness of this Fergburger! No wonder it was widely recommended and much loved by the locals! We’re pretty lucky that we need not queue long that day, perhaps due to the coincidental odd hours, we were guessing, hehe….

Rather full, hence we took a stroll nearby Beach St and there’s where we found the stunning Laka Wakatipu by chance, bravo!

Soon after that, we left and made our way quickly to Wanaka as it was about an hour plus away, hopefully to reach by early evening. We were rather lucky as the weather was fine, still in time to snaps a few quick shots along the way, before finally arriving at Wanaka View Motel, another peaceful town to look forward to.

This quaint lovely town would enchant you with another of its asset- Lake Wanaka! But let’s keep that for Day 3 Travel sharing alright? Hehe……

Room was comfortably decent with ensuite bathroom, yeah!

Yeah, i can do my own French Press!

We then sought the friendly staff’s suggestion on what’s food to try over here, which eatery was more frequented by the local- and that’s when we made up our mind to Speight’s Ale House!

So far, the impromptu birthday getaway had been nice to us. Least that I expected that I could really see them for real- rolling green mountains, pristine lakes and azure vistas! All of which usually I used to adore them from Google picture prior to my trip! Truly blessed and wish could enjoy the moment a little longer.

Simply put it, create your own trail and stop at nothing to see everything!
(Yeah, we travel around South NZ by driving, and that also means we stop (almost) at every nook and corner with picturesque views that instantly enchant us along the cruise! So you can have a good guess on ‘how well’ we keep up with our initially estimated arrival time at next pit stop,

Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ❤ℒℴѵℯ❤
And our travel journey continues....................
