CUPPA MOMENT @ FRENCH’s CAFÉS RICHARD, SKY AVENUE, GENTING HIGHLANDS

What better way to unwind the rest of the evening after hearty feast at Motorino,  other than leisurely sipping a warm cup of joe, freshly brewed before you while watching the golden day slowly transformed into cozy night time?

It was packed as usual at Cafés Richard, especially its alluring Hi Tea set that got throng of crowds queuing for it to dine in the naturally lighted al fresco sheltered space area of SkyAvenue . Luckily we came after the gnawing tummy was decently fueled up- so we could skip the long line and were just as glad sitting at the front bar table, gazing in awe when well trained barista performing their forte in the coffee industry.

While we were waiting patiently for our slow coffee to be prepared by one of the friendly barista; Manuel, we were greeted hospitably by its French manager that goes by the name Luc.

He who hails from France and despite only been in Malaysia for nearly 4 months, amazingly has Nasi Lemak as one of his favourite choice of local delicacy here. Even The King of Fruits poses not much of a challenge to him, which more often than not, this fruit seems to appear tad intimidating to most Caucasians, haha. But durian is nice though, don’t you agree? (=

So yeah, our slowly brewed coffee had arrived!

SINGLE ORIGIN SUMATRA “ORANG UTAN” COFFEE (MYR 25)

CAFÉ AU LAIT (MYR 24)

Both coffee selections were prepared via French Press method for full-bodied profile and a rich cup of coffee to relish in, with the later was more unique as you would be drinking it from a bowl instead of the usual ceramic cup.

We were told that native French love to enjoy their café au lait by dipping in croissant as their pick-me-up when kick starting their day-interesting! You actually get to finish brewing the coffee yourself at your tableside too.

It was a pleasure talking to him, albeit a quick one as he need to maneuver the team as well as the outlet around making sure every guests has their orders in place and besides, we were also rushing for next itinerary.

Soon, after exchanging some brief chat and surely to be practiced my French language per se, we bid farewell and vowed to be back again next round for the good coffee and perhaps, better improved spoken French of mine? Let’s hope so, merci Luc!

Hope you gonna enjoy your stay in Malaysia!
