THE SMOKEHOUSE HOTEL @ CAMERON HIGHLANDS

As the Yuletide season is approaching- which is just a few days’ shy away, it can’t help but to relive back the sweet memories of cozy and warm moment spent at the cooling pristine hills of Cameron Highlands, at the vintage crib of Ye Olde Smokehouse.

The quaint English house is still very much well-maintained architecturally, preserving all the quintessential elements that have passed through decades while flourished with potpourri of fragrant plants and dainty flowers at its garden. It’s my maiden visit here and has since painted pleasant memories somewhere in my ‘heart-disk’, which I believe would cherish it for a long, long time……….

A rather cool atmosphere greeted us upon our arrival as it’s bit gloomy on that afternoon, but we managed to park our car right opposite our room (Halcyon 2) across the road, so it’s still quite convenient to escape from the light drizzle- should your hands are too heavy to use an umbrella :D

As the weather wasn’t that friendly to shutterbug, so we proceed to check in our room, snapped some pictures, had a quick rest (warm pillow wanted to catch 40 winks :D) before drove out again in search for some grubs like steamboat, cafes  and nearby attractions such as tea plantation as well as flowers and strawberry farms.

This English Tudor boutique style hotel was built in 1939, and is situated adjacent to a beautiful golf course. Guests will enjoy a prime location on a verdant hill that is just 3 hours’ drive away from Kuala Lumpur and nestled upon the frontier that separates modernity from the untamed wild. Guests will find the hotel perfectly situated to explore both.

This boutique hotel features a special traditional English breakfast, followed by a noon tea in the sculpted garden- oh yeah, I really love the garden! Hehe

Come dusk, it’s time to take pleasure in a drink by the fireplace and relax before retiring to one of the well-appointed suites. The experience of The Smokehouse is ultimately something to be treasured.

Luckily, the weather next day was very much more welcoming, so it’s definitely a good time to feed the camera with scenic beauty around this English Tudor house, lovely!

Room and suites are from MYR 400+ to MYR680+, where all rates are inclusive of full traditional English Breakfast. The hotel also boldly offers one of the finest dining venues in the Highlands, featuring a distinctive collage of traditional and modern cuisine types.

In a nutshell, Ye Olde Smokehouse Hotel certainly makes the perfect venue for carefree souls who yearn for a short excursion nearby the metropolis that is imbued with aeshetic English style boutique hotel and sumptuous dining to complete the experience. Missing the hospitality from the staff now……… wish to revisit them again soon!
