TRULY WINE @ THE STARLING MALL

Being touted as “mall in the park” set within the metropolis, the chic compound of Starling Mall is now made merrier with the latest addition of Truly Wine, which has just graced the neighbourhood at only 2 weeks’ old during the time of our visit.

Aptly depicted by its name, cheese and wine are definitely one of the focus, as well as its rib eye particularly, that somehow manage to steal a glimpse of limelight from its peers (=

Guests have the choice to dine in within cozy its air-conditioned enclave or al fresco overlooking the well-manage park within the mall. Its interior was nicely designed with multi-faceted features with one corner to house its array of wines.

Sizzling Rib Eye Cutlet (MYR 36)

Those cubes of tenderly juicy meat cutlets were lovely done with light seasoning of salt and pepper with a side of salad, before grilled till just nice. Best served medium.

Cheese Platter that comes in assorted cheese variants such as Gouda, Emmental, Cheddar and Blue Cheese among others, accompanied by grapes, dried peaches as well as nuts for added crunch.

This has got to be one of the main highlights where cheese lovers get to liberally indulge in their cheesy craving where they could choose their favourite sides to be dipped with the melted block of cheese!

Sausage Platter (MYR 33)

Grilled giant pork sausage, Venice sausages and “pigs in blankets”

Truffle Iberico Collar (MYR 48)

Pan seared air-flown Spanish Iberico pork collar served with garden salad, drizzled with balsamic and truffle oil. Personally would have enjoyed it more if there are more lean meat to strike the balance. Otherwise, it’s tad too greasy for me.

Fried Squid Heads (MYR 23)

Always a fan of fried squids undoubtedly. However, this appetizer would be lovelier if it’s not overfried as it appears a little too hard to my liking. Apart from that, the crunchiness is there to entice you more!

Chili Garlic Prawn (MYR 28)

Spanish style cooking with chili flakes, garlic and butter. Simple and hassle-free hot plate that proves earnest recipe at its best! And by the way, those prawns are really bouncy and fresh!

Garlic Butter Scallop (MYR 28)

Very garlicky I must say, and the pungent paste was generously served alongside with the chewy scallops.

  

Pumpkin Soup and Mushroom Soup (MYR 12)

The accompanied dressing was refreshingly done.

Caramelized Garlic Roast Pork (MYR 28)

Roast pork pan-fried and cooked with house special garlic sauce

Big S Pork Ribs (MYR 63)

Oven baked pork ribs coated with signature black sauce

3 Chefs’ Crispy Pork Ribs (MYR 63)

Slow cooked for 16 hours and deep fried till crispy.

  

Overall, it was a great choice of venue especially when you are searching for a laid-back place to chill out after a long day, or a casual gathering with buddies over toothsome grubs complemented with vintage wines and alluring cheese. Oh, before I pen off, do you know they are the first in Malaysia that serves Little Creatures Pale Ale craft beer? So check them out soon those foamy beverages!
