BANANABRO @ BERJAYA TIME SQUARE KL
It’s definitely a Malaysian thing when it comes to food- what’s
more when we are talking about our very own Banana Leaf delicacy!
Bananabro- the
first outlet of its kind opened on 5th March 2018, just barely
nearly 2 months’ old, is a brand that dedicates its passion and love towards his
local delights by the 3 musketeers behind the scene namely Griffin (Manager), Gan
(Operations Manager) and most importantly by the magic hands of David (Head
Chef), who hails from Penang itself- hooray, my beloved hometown (=
Bananabro is the
new favourite banana leaf restaurant
that is modern with contemporary touches, authentic and best of all, perfect
for get-togethers with your friends and family over fresh and hot meals with
flavours that pack a punch!. Primarily focus on serving banana leaf meal, they pride
themselves in serving only fresh ingredients with intense flavours in generous
amounts to satisfy your banana leaf cravings.
“If it isn’t good enough to serve to our own families, we won’t
serve it to our customers”, further reassuring from the team of Bananabro.
So what is Banana Leaf rice and how to enjoy it?
Traditionally eaten with hands but even so with fork and
spoon are equally great too!
Many might confuse it with Nasi Kandar that is famously originates
from Penang, which is also eaten with various spice and curry gravy but with
additional cost for every additional item, whereas for Banana Leaf, it is a
type of vegetarian repast from South India, that is usually served on a piece
of green banana leaf with several vegetarian options and other condiments such
as rasam, salted chilli & yogurt, all of which are refillable at no additional
cost. Having said that, meat dishes could still be ordered separately.
So what you can expect from this culturally rich pitstop?
Among the highlights Mutton Of The Day, Chicken Of The Day, Chicken
65, Fried Squid, Nasi Lemak Ayam With Acar and down the throat with Teh Lawa
(Milk Tea) as well as assorted digestion-promoting beverages such as Lassi
