SIR EDMUND HILLARY ALPINE CENTRE CAFÉ & BAR @ THE HERMITAGE HOTEL, TERRACE ROAD, AORAKI

Can’t be more anticipating down the excursion after exploring the many natural beauty of Mount Aoraki, majestically astounding Tasman Glaciers as well as glorious repast of Old Mountaineers Café & Bar at Mount Cook the day before.

Before dragging my feet to really, seriously, absolutely checking out from Hermitage Hotel, we went to its in house café for a quick breakfast which is beautifully illuminated by the warm, welcoming sunlight subtly streamed from the mountain! Yea, I really love this place very, very much and gonna miss it for sure.

So here we are, at the tranquil al fresco of Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre Café & Bar, that offers decent array of wholesome breakfast like muesli, sandwiches, muffins, coffees and et cetera. You name it, they got it!

Long Black (AUD 4.10)

Flat White (AUD 4.60)

Muesli with Yoghurt

Sandwich with Ham

Sir Edmund Hillary Cafe & Bar is located inside The Hermitage Hotel on Terrace Road, Aoraki or better known as Mount Cook Village’s vicinity, which is just a spectacular 55km drive from the Lake Pukaki and  from State Highway, 8 turn-off between Christchurch and Queenstown.

This café-cum-bar is really a lovely place that provides a unique and inspiring atmosphere in which to refresh, refuel and relax. Specializing in classic Kiwi fare, the self-service café & bar also offers floor to ceiling views of Aoraki Mount Cook, from indoor or outdoor seating. And for that, I’m totally sold! Priceless majestic view!

Free Wi-Fi is available within the cafe to guests staying at the Hermitage Hotel, Motels and Chalets, and it opens daily from 9.30am to 5.00pm (seasonal hours may apply) for fresh sandwiches and paninis, salads, locally made pies, pizzas, sausage rolls and a hot dish of the day.
Tea, coffee, cold drinks, cakes and pastries are also available.

During the warmer months from 5pm to dusk, the cafe reverts to an evening bar serving beverages and small snacks. Spending the evening relaxingly on the cafe balcony and watching the sunset over Aoraki Mount Cook- was a true bliss.

The bar opens daily for a wide range of beverages. Good place to warm up your body soothingly during the winter time while basking in the tranquility of life as time slowly passes by………

Up next, let’s enroute the highway to Aorangi!
