Theme Park Hotel’s Lobby Will Transport Guests To A Fantastic Wonderland

“A Makeover That Will Transport You To A Journey Of Imagination And Fun!”

Guest will be transported to a different world at the Theme Park Hotel at Resorts World Genting which is ultimately family-friendly accommodation. Forget the stereotypical look of hotel lobbies with chandeliers and tinkling fountains. Guests will immediately feel the difference upon stepping into the hotel lobby which is splendidly decked out in massive trees that reach all the way up to the ceiling and seem to be lost amongst the ‘clouds’.

There is no check-in counter quite like this one as visitors will encounter a hot air balloon draped in vines that looks like it drifted away and came to find its home in the middle of the forest that is so high it hits the roof. Miniature grassy slopes cover the hotel lobby where children can be seen gamboling merrily and sliding down the ‘hills’. Parents watching over their frolicking little ones can take a seat in one of the four ‘monkey cups’ to enjoy a tranquil view of the surrounding rainforest and the Talking Gardens.

Escalators covered with motifs of leaves will transport visitors higher than the clouds and to the hotel rooms. Every meticulously decorated corner is a selfie opportunity from the bright green slopes to the tiny model of the mountains, a nod to the highlands itself. For the adults, it’s the perfect place to reencounter the nostalgia of their childhoods whilst kids will be over-the-moon exploring the fun areas of the hotel.

The Theme Park Hotel is aptly named as it is a mere stone’s throw away from the upcoming Twentieth Century Fox Malaysia Theme Park. The hotel has 456 rooms spanning 8 floors throughout the Main Wing and the Valley Wing. Dato’ Edward Holloway, Executive Vice President of Leisure and Hospitality at Resorts World Genting said, “At the resort, we have a total of seven hotels and whilst each one has its own unique quality, the Theme Park Hotel definitely stands out amongst them. Our goal at Resorts World Genting is to always be different from others and for this particular hotel lobby; we thought out-of-the-box to achieve that wow factor. We were inspired by our 130-million year old rainforest and brought elements of that indoors with a whimsical twist such as including making a life-sized model of a hot air balloon as our check-in counter.”

The quirky and playful décor is further expanded on the other areas of the hotel. Directional signs around the hotel are all ‘handwritten’. Line art and cartoons abound around the property. The corridor linking the two wings of the hotel features a floor with a hopscotch pattern on it so kids can indulge in exuberant play. A chic trick with the corridor lighting illuminates the space in a wash of coloured purple light. Room numbers are hand painted on the floor in front of each room that makes searching for your room a fun game for the little ones.

The more the merrier with rooms that fit up to 6!
In their old configuration, each room could house two to three guests. To accommodate visitors, Resorts World Genting is tripling the capacity of the rooms by making the beds the central feature of the rooms. Most rooms now feature a built in, Tatami-style raised platform on which are two queen sized beds which can comfortably hold four guests in the Quads rooms

QUAD ROOMS

A built-up bunk bed above the platform holds another queen sized mattress, effectively enabling six visitors in a room in the Sixers rooms. The novelty of the bunk beds is bound to have children clamouring to sleep on top, allowing parents a chance to rest without fidgety children in their proximity. There are also Kings rooms for a cosy night for travelling duos.

The raised sleeping platforms also serve as storage spaces. Compartments in the platforms are used to store luggage, while room safes are also built into the drawer space. Clothes are hung on knobs around which artists have drawn outlines of closets. The television set too is hung on brackets, with artwork around it to make it seem that it is enclosed in a TV cabinet. “We designed according to the ‘line of sight’ theory. The goal is to have continuous, uninterrupted lines, straight lines to a clean ceiling which gives the impression of space,” explained Dato’ Edward. In lieu of expensive heavy drapes and curtains, artists pitched in to hand draw designs in white paint on blackout roller blinds, resulting in original works of art in every room.

Have an unforgettable holiday with your loved one at the Honeymoon suites!
There are four honeymoon suites in the property which overlooks an uninterrupted panorama of the valley offering stunning views of natural mountain forests complete with a claw foot tub in the living room. The suites, decked out in shades of purple paired with plush carpeting create the perfect romantic setting which has a different look and feel altogether from the rest of the hotel. Designed around the four fun stages of romance – courtship, proposal, wedding and honeymoon –the suites are all executed as stand-alone units, unique in décor, feel and furnishing.

Quick eats and bites!
A grab and go F&B outlet, aptly named Eatopia is also located in the lobby of the family-oriented hotel. It is clearly evident in its offerings which include an assortment of bakery items, heat-and-go wraps and pastas, Malaysian staples like nasi lemak, sushi and hot and cold beverages. Guests looking for a quicker solution can seek the snack and drinks vending machines which are located on each floor.
