DOMO CAFÉ @ MELAKA

While on a leisure jaunt a couple of weeks ago to catch cultural performance at Encore Melaka, we happened to chance upon a newly opened café that  was merely a week’s old during our visit. It was quaintly located at a rather newly developed area then, just within the vicinity of Impression City or merely 15 minutes’ drive away from the main town.

As such, choice of food was tad limited back then, so we decided to try their Filter Coffee since we had already filled up from the morning walk at Jonker Street.

What came into mind the moment we stepped in was, I was intrigued by its floral decorations within multi-faceted wooden interior intertwined with white marble design at the counter. Various books and cutesy whatnots were seen spicing up the space even further.

While waiting for the single origin filter coffee to be ready, I took a quick, light amble over to the next enclave which was just a stone’s throw away. Apparently, the next 2 to3 units were actually internally connected and thus, walkable from one to the other. Only then I realized there was actually a bakery café on the last unit, should have known earlier then I my cup of java wouldn’t be that lonely, hehe.

In between, I found an artsy corner where patrons were treated visually to the many vibrant set ups that naturally turned the spot an ideal place for photography and instagram-worthy. And so, I shouldn’t lose this chance as well- I thought to myself then.

Soon, our two cups of hand pour coffee were ready and served.
The beans were seasonal, so left it to the barista’s suggestion to recommend based on our tastebud preference. Me being fan of fruity and bright notes, while the partner in crime fancied a much bolder body whenever it comes to coffee.

Filter Coffee- Ethiopia and Nicaragua

Freshly brewed at the tranquil nook at the white counter earlier while sipping the aromatic cup of joe with beans roasted in Japan.
Simplicity in a Zen-moment, bliss!

We didn’t stay too long as we would need to rush back to Kuala Lumpur after this. So we bid adieu to the beautiful café while subconsciously already harnessing the idea to be back again. Hopefully there would be wider menu choices on the nosh part soon when we return.

Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ℒℴѵ
