SIMPLY MALAY! RAMADHAN BUFFET @ BIJAN BAR & RESTAURANT



It felt like Valentine’s Day just passed yesterday.
And in no time, we are going to usher another festival- holy month of Ramadhan! The fasting month of Ramadan is actually a wonderful time to rediscover Malay food heritage from traditional yesteryear recipes to modern renditions of classic dishes where both are simultaneously crafted to reignite your sense towards this unique culinary art as well as cultural assimilation.
As per Bijan’s tradition, the seasoned new Head Chef Razis and his assistant Chef Ujang have planned some great menu mixed for this holy month. Themed as “Simply Malay”, it is all about showcasing our unique, rich and hearty traditional Malay food that warms the soul.
Not forgetting the well-decorated space of cozy interior of Bijan.

This year, the chefs will be focusing on a variety of carving and grilled items like Lidah Salai (in-house smoked beef tougue), Ikan Kerapu (roasted garoupa in banana leaves), Satay Udang (prawn satay), Satay Sotong (squid satay), Satay Perut (tripes satay), Kaki Kambing (roasted leg of lamb) and many more. 
Other “all time” old favourites to look forward to are Keropok Lekor, Laksa Negeri, Asam Pedas Daging Tetel, Sup Tulang Rusuk, Salai Lemak Sembilang (smoked catfish), Salai Rimau Menangis (in-house smoked beef striploin), Pasembor amongst others, besides the equally tempting array of inviting desserts too!
 One of the mouthwatering potpourri that rather unique and tickled my taste bud memorably was the special grilled dish that goes by the name of Pais Ikan. It literally means fish meat that is grilled in wrapped banana leaf in order to inject that subtle aroma into it. Fret not as the fish paste is delicate without any bones while the fragrance of herbs permeating throughout robustly. I personally love the julienned lemongrass that is wonderfully incorporated into it, thumbs up!
This luscious spread of Ramadhan buffet by the whimsical Malay Fine Dine enclave is priced at MYR120++ per pax and is available starting from 9th to 31st May 2019, 7pm till 930 pm.
Thou shall get to enjoy the sumptuous buffet feast at only MYR 110 nett per person!
