XIAO BY CRUSTZ @ HAPPY MANSION

Finally visited the acclaimed patisserie after been hearing it for some time, if only it’s nearer to my crib in KL (=
Having always been enchanted by refined élan of French pastry especially after devouring in similar artistry at Namelaka, now it is much clearer that behind all the elaborated confectionery actually comes with immense effort and time before the final product is ready to be served.

Art, creativity, passions and skills- each of them plays an important role in ensuring the end product was an endearingly captivating piece to both visual and senses. Which is why I don’t mind to still convince my tummy to end the night on a sweet note after a rather hearty dinner at Muse just 5 minutes ago. Thankfully, my partner in crime doesn’t mind and join in my hankering for sweet tooth craving before catching Aladdin movie, merci!
It seems like he is quite well-trained now in regards to food photography setting with the right arrangement for the components in harmony. How not to when I came back to our table after the order is served (I was away doing my usual shutterbug stint- snapping the pictures of the interior), to see those plates and cups have been nicely set and ready to be shot next.

Well, frankly speaking, I was rather amused and surprised at the same time to see such thoughtful act by him. Guess those ‘training time’ of having him as my plus one in food review invitation really pays off, haha! But on a second thought, I knew his intention was to ‘time keep’ me so that I won’t engross and laze at the café too long as the movie that he had booked was merely half an hour away, LOLz. He certainly knows me really well, haha. Nevertheless, still felt very much thankful to him and couldn’t help but smitten by the suave move……………..

So there you go, finally I fixed my mind on La Vie En Rose (MYR 17) despite I really wish to have another morsel along, but then worried can’t finish it as the tummy had just been carbo-loaded 5 minutes ago.

A dainty rhapsody composed on the notes of lychee, raspberry rose chantilly, pastry cream, raspberry jam and sable breton.
Indeed very catchy and boldly alluring especially with that red petal crowning on top and pate a choux dough filled up with velvet custard.
And in time of this, any hot tea certainly helps to ease and elevate the experience at the same time.

Silver Moon (MYR 10)
A TWG Tea blend of green teas accented with a grand berry and vanilla bouquet, giving out debonair nuance with just the right hint of spice. Indeed a tea for that special moment- with that special one (=

So yeah, we wrapped up the jaunt in a jiffy in hope that we won’t miss the show. As lady’s luck had it, we made it in the nick of time as the show just literally began once we found our seats- only missed out those advertisements of thrillers. But that’s very fine, haha!
Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ℒℴѵ
