BREADFRUITS @ DESA SRI HARTAMAS


It’s been almost 3 years now when I first visited the catchy named Breadfruits café located in Desa Sri Hartamas, in one of my many casual foods tripping day.
Always enchanted by its symmetrical roof-shaped interior with wooden fixtures, this café is popularly patronized by foodie who enjoys hearty breakfast and brunch varied selection of Pan-Asian fusion. 
Tonkatsu Onsen Egg Carbonara (MYR 24)
24-hours simmered pork bone broth, served with homemade sliced white Japanese Chashu and onsen egg.
As our traditional Italian counterpart has it, the best and original carbonara is served with egg without much heavy cream like the commonly seen nowadays. This makes the dish simply loveable without being over cloying.
SATO San Smoked Chashu Donbori (MYR 22)
Smoked chashu served with homemade teriyaki sauce and onsen egg and spring onion
The whole combo comes very nicely presented, most importantly is yummy! Just love the very well marinated smoked chashu with generous amount of toppings, highly recommended!
Herbs and Spices Chicken (MYR 24)
Tender chicken meat is thoroughly marinated and served with garlic rice 
Brunch Pasta with 7 min Egg (MYR 24)
Al dente fettuccine served with bacon, mushroom, tomato and rocket in light carbonara sauce
Tangy Tomato Chorizo (MYR 24)
Chorizo sausage, mushroom, tomato, basil, olive, rocket and grated cheese
 Morrocon Fried Chicken Popcorn (MYR 14)
Marinated in Moroccan Harissa spices, those cutlets of chicken tenders are so crispy and flavourful! One is definitely not enough and most likely, you are bound to have another (or more) rounds!
Curry Cauliflower Rocket (MY 19)
Vegan folks are not neglected either.
Grilled curry turmeric mix spices seasoned cauliflower tossed with arugula and drizzled with chimmichurri pesto. Overall, it was a toothsome combination and can be tad addictive though, hehe….
Apart from the rice bowls and pasta, one of their highlights would be the 3 main courses that are flavorfully roasted from the Smoke Barrel using apple wood chips. For this menu, please allow waiting time of 15 - 20 mins as they are freshly roasted plates from the kitchen upon order.
Greek Salad

Father’s Smoked Pork Shoulder (MYR 25 -150g, MYR 38 - 300g)
Marinated sakura pork shoulder smoked in the barrel with apple wood chips served with roasted chat potatoes and Greek salad
Mother’s Smoked Chicken (MYR 25 - ¼, MYR 32 - ½, MYR 48 - Whole)
Whole chicken seasoned with mixed spice smoked in the barrel with apple wood chips served with roasted chat potatoes and Greek salad
Son’s Smoked Mackerel (MYR38)
Mixed spiced seasoned Norway mackerel fish smoked with apple wood chips served with rocket and Greek salad
Diners would also be delighted to learn there are some specially themed hand crafted wild honey beverages where the honey serves as a great substitution to the usual less healthy sugar. 
The sweetness from the wild honey (local Tualang honey) is inexplicably soothing that somehow further unleashes the characteristic of the other component it collaborates with, besides some subtle floral fragrance it brings along as well.
Wild Honey Mocktail series such as Lemonade Passion Honey (MYR 13)
For coffee lovers, you may have your caffeine fix with this wonderfully paired honeyed cuppa.

Of course there is still the simple Long Black (MYR 7) for the purist (=
 
Besides drinks, the usually boldly French influenced toastie is now daintily mellowed down by this pleasant wild honey too.
Wild Honey French Toast (MYR 24)
With choice of Roasted Banana, Passion Fruit and Bacon.
Not forgetting some jovial tipple moment with buddies alike from their wide selection of Sake and Wine.
Hence, if you are looking for a spot for a leisure hangout with family and friends over scrumptious cuisine, do check out Breadfruits for a cozy environment and I personally enjoyed their wild honey drink series besides the luscious porky affair and the addictive Moroccan Chicken Popcorn too!
