LAUGHING FISH BY HARRY RAMSDEN @ RESORTS WORLD GENTING

After recent quick bites at its grab-and-go joint located just next door, finally get to visit this adjacent restaurant, also by the same brand I supposed - Laughing Fish by Harry Ramsden!

Luckily this time round the queue wasn’t that long so we managed to settle down on a table pretty quickly.

Upon entering, I was enchanted by its wooden, multi-faceted interior that naturally exuded some vintage nuance that easily made it a perfect place for quick respite- to sit down and relax after much walking around at the lifestyle complex.
Each Fish n’ Chips here was served with double-cooked chips and cooked fresh to order. So here you go, world’s famous Britain’s earnest fave grub!
Cod (MYR 38/46/56 – Regular/Large/Legendary)
Light and flaky with slightly more fishy taste
Haddock (MYR 38/46/56 – Regular/Large/Legendary)
Flavourful and chunky slice.
Another great option rather than the usual Dory or Perch.
I actually grew to love fish n’chips (usually I shun them due to thick batter) ever since tried various breeds in Albany such as the Hammerhead and Harpuka or Hoki and Blue Cod in Queenstown- simply because they are fresher and sweeter.

As for The Laughing Fish’s classics, we also tried the steak.
250g Sirloin Steak (MYR 53)
Served with double-cooked chips and a choice of peppercorn sauce or hollandaise sauce.
I went with the latter sauce as recommended and have the meat medium rare doneness.
The steak was juicy in its natural sweetness, almost without much marinate just as the common methodology adopted by Western practitioner widely who emphasized on “Simplicity Is the Best” when comes to fresh produce. But surprisingly, the Australian sirloin was rather sinewy as opposed to what I usually had elsewhere.
Classic Harry’s Beef Burger (MYR 28)
Double beef patty with streaky beef, bacon, tomato and cheddar cheese served with coleslaw.
The hamburger steak in this case seems to fare much better than the grilled steak as it’s tenderer.

For some cooler, we went for the signatures of course.
Laughing Fish Signature Lemonade (MYR 16/28- Single/Sharing)
Refreshing and frizzy buds tackling homemade citrus mix
Apple & Passion Fruit Cooler (MYR 18)
Spritzy blend of passion fruit and apple with a citrus hint
Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience- we love the fish dishes here, as they are fresh with minimal seasonings and the nearest taste we could get locally here at High Line, Resorts World Genting, almost akin to those served in Australia and New Zealand.
After the tummy was happily refueled, we headed over to the European style fanfare at Starlight Carnival with Oktobest Hall to wrap up that festive week!
Cheers for now and follow us at Carpe Diem for more ‘food-ful’ discoveries! ℒℴѵ
