2D 1N @ D’ WHARF HOTEL & RESIDENCE, PORT DICKSON
It was the prelude before the festive Yule week officially
began and we were looking for some nearby excursion for a quick escapade from
the hustling metropolis. So we came across this rather new and chic hotel named
D’
Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence, located at Port Dickson that was nearby the beach.
It was pouring heavily when we were driving from Kuala
Lumpur (KL) to the hotel on a Sunday afternoon. The sky was still quite dark
and gloomy by the time we arrived before the official check-in time at 3pm to our Executive Room. Perhaps
it was the monsoon season that the drizzling continued throughout the evening.
Anyway, this newly established hotel is strategically
located in the heart of Port Dickson (PD), Negeri Sembilan which is just next
to the town centre. It’s about 1.5 hours’ drive from KL and offering various
amenities for its 308 fully furnished rooms including luxury rooms with sea
views over the Straits of Malacca as well as town view.
The Executive Room was spacious with abundance of natural light from the wide glassy window pane. This helped to illuminate the room naturally. It was equipped with an electric kettle, mini bar fridge and flat panel TV just opposite of the bed frame which was perfectly ideal when snuggled up comfortably under the the blanket while enjoying some movies.
Among the facilities
available are swimming pool, gymnasium, children playground, parking facilities,
restaurant, indoor game arcade (kids-friendly) and complimentary wifi connection.
D’ Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence offers guests a reposeful
stroll at its promenade in PD's town centre facing the sea off Pulau Arang. It
serves as a popular spot in the evening for families to fly kites, dining and
shopping zone at the nearby contemporary shop lots along the seafront
boulevard, as well as recreational parks fronting the promenade walk.
As for nightlife entertainment, it was rather limited
as there are not many choices for partygoers. But instead, do take some time to
bask in the serenity or unwind by the beachside at night while listening to the
sound of waves. On top of that, you could visit the Food Truck park for local
delights or snacks if you happened to be there between Friday to Sunday.
You could also drive out in the vicinity for earnest
nosh like Phoenix Baba Nyonya Delights,
some seafood treats as dinner at Weng Yin
Seafood Restaurant, or light café hopping- there weren’t many options but
we visited Inns J Café which was
pretty good.
While for breakie, save the time by dining at the
hotel’s Sky Pool Café located at Level 5 which offers decent selection of Asian
fusion plates from 7am to 1030am. Options to dine in air-conditioned enclave or
al fresco.
If you are looking for some cozy venue for both
business and leisure trips in PD, do check out the strategically located D’ Wharf Hotel & Serviced Residence for
a relaxing homey staycation.
