THE LAKEHOUSE @ CAMERON HIGHLANDS

The name itself, “Lakehouse” never fails to have a vivid place in my heart for that also reminds me of a meaningful movie by Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock- which is a favourite of mine.

Christmas always reminds me of warm moments from yesteryears especially those simple but memorable times. And my knack for those charms exude from the olde world never ceased astonishing me but instead; have me more appreciative day by day.

For this, the previous staycation at the iconic and artfully beckoning tudor-styled The Lakehouse located uphill at the pristine air of Cameron Highlands, aptly portrays the current Yule mood of rejoice and blessed festivity. This indirectly comes as a sequel after another nostalgically vintage lodge at Ye Olde Smokehouse that is equally captivating in its own way.

Some history snippet of The Lakehouse from its source…….

“Retired British Colonel Stanley J. Foster started construction on The Lakehouse in 1966, taking 4 years to complete. It had always been a dream of Foster’s to have his own Bed & Breakfast. In 1970, the property started its operations. Colonel Foster resided in the now named Fosters Suite at the Hilltop house which was his private residence overlooking the Main building.

Today, The Lakehouse still retains its colonial charm, a jewel high atop the Cameron Highlands, towering above the majestic and historic area.”

Finally I have the answer now to that magnificent cottage slightly further up from the hotel lobby that got me wondering how I could book a stay in it next, lolz.

Wish I have bumped into the owner Mr Foster to say Hi and how beautiful his architecture design is!

Our Deluxe Room (32.2 sqm) comes furnished (I would say rather fully furnished) with a snuggly cozy queen-sized four-poster bed. Immersing with warmth and radiating some romance through the air, the room was also enlivened by dainty touches of fresh flowers that exuded aromatic scents, which further had your spirits uplifted and soul rejuvenated.

The four-poster bed was the best part that had me fallen head over heels like a kid for its enchanting design with rails that allowed curtain to be wrapped around the bed for little childlike privacy. In fact, I have been harnessing this princessy dream since I was a kid- watching too many kingdom fairy tales perhaps? :D

There was also a cozy sitting area against the wooden window ornamented with calming floral draperies, whereby the upholstered couch served as the ideal place for quiet reading or running life reflection lightly. 

The warm lighting from the outside certainly help to keep your mind truly at rest with idyllic comfort, while gazing reposefully over pretty fresh flowers.

Besides that, it also seems like a perfect place for some intimate tête-à-tête session over some cuppa and shortbreads too, bliss!

The dulcet enclave was amply complete with amenities such as air condition, antique table fan, coffee and tea-making facilities, LCD TV, hair dryer, iron & ironing board, laundry service, turndown service, in-room safe and also spacious bathroom with a separate shower and bath equipped with hair dryer, hand-held bidet, vanity area and a full set of personal care toiletries. All in all, it was just nice and decent.

As there were still couple of hours to go before dinner time at The Restaurant (its inhouse F&B), we took some quick stroll around the premise while snapping some shots for the beautiful memories.

Loving this house that made our stay an aesthetically tranquil one and indeed, it just felt like discovering another home away from home.
