COR BLIMEY BRITISH FISH AND CHIPS @ DAMANSARA UPTOWN




Well to begin with, i’m not really a big fan of deep fried fish until I got the chance to try them abroad at Ocean & Paddock in Albany and Erik’s Fish & Chips in Queenstown- that I grew to love them. Now there is even an establishment from UK currently available in Malaysia at Resorts World Genting, Harry & Ramsden.



The reason why initially I was bit skeptical of Fish n’ Chips served locally here is, more often than not the dish kind of lacking in authenticity in terms of flavour and recipes, not to mention fish option is mainly restricted to only Dory and batter is tad thick.



However, ever since visiting Cor Blimey, my perception has changed. I’m glad that finally, I have found a place whereby this homey recipe is executed in the most earnest way without overdoing it while maintaining its heritage at its best. Most importantly, the ingredients must be fresh.



 Ultimate Sides Platter (MYR 29.90)
The perfect combo for all the sides variety consisting of onion rings, mushrooms, broccoli cheese croquettes, cheddar cheese melts and crispy zucchini fries served with homemade sauces.


Signature Halibut (MYR 44.90)
Lean fish with mild, sweet tasting white flesh and large tender flakes.



We had it the signature British way; hand battered with lemon herb and deep fried. Came with homemade hand-cut chips, chunky coleslaw and tartar sauce.




English Lemonade (MYR 11.90)
Really love this traditional lemonade that was hand pressed with fresh lemons. Felt that it could potentially be one of the best one in Klang Valley. And that’s why we never fail to order it whenever returning.

Calamari Rings (MYR 14.90)
Tender Calamari deep fried in batter and served with tartar sauce.




Pan Seared Cherry Snapper (MYR 30.90)
Slightly stronger in taste, with lean medium-firm flesh and flaky texture.


For this version, we choose the pan-seared method that comes in lighter batter but still equally tasty. I had it with sautéed mushrooms, parsley liquor sauce and my fave snack; triple cooked chunky chips (yeah, I’m a true blue fans of fries!)


English Lemonade (MYR 11.90)
Love their classic tangy lemonade as usual.

Goes with Onion Garlic Batter



Love all of the Triple Cooked Chunky Chips, Creamy Mash, Mushy Peas & Coleslaw as usual……

Signature Alaskan Pollock (MYR 32.90)
Goes with all-time fave Triple Cooked Chunky Chips and Mushy Peas besides Tartar sauce and Lemon Wedge






Pan Seared Ocean Perch (MYR 28.90)
Served with my choice of sides namely Creamy Mash, Sauteed Mushroom and Creamy Herb Sauce




Classic Lemonade (this time i got my fave minty tang, thanks guys!!)




All in all, the numerous visits to Cor Blimey have been a wonderful one so far. Glad to learn that authentic British style Fish & Chips is much more accessible now instead of having to travel oversea to fix the craving. Thence, I look forward to many returns again to this quaint shop that no doubt captures each diner’s heart with its quality sumptuous feast.
