SUNSAN BAKE @ TAMAN SHANGHAI, KUALA LUMPUR

It was another lovely public holiday mid-week, thence naturally calls for another relaxing cafe-hopping with buddy alike- also another matcha fan to be more exact, hehe.

And so, was asked to suggest which cafe to explore this time round...... so that's when suddenly recalled a place that wanted to visit sometime ago but yet to make it. It was SunSan Bake, a quite charming bungalow in its own way that is transformed into a cafe, which was a plus point as i often have a knack for anything of Victorian design, harmoniously intertwined with wooden facade and of white, minimalist themed.

The interior was rather spacious, makes it so comfy and calming actuary to be- what's more when it's located slightly mid uphill. So parking may requite some decent maneuvering skill as the road can be quite narrow to some in order to navigate the side-parking.

Was well noted that pastry is one of their signature, so the famous truffle bun is a must-order, on top of matcha indulgence, that's for sure!

Black Truffle Shiopan (MYR 13)

Black Truffle Butter, White Truffle Oil, Smoked Maidon Sea Salt

The unmistakably aroma of this truffle bread is so prominent that it has travelled to our nose even before it finally reaches the table. Every bites is soft and fluffy, enveloped with the truffle fragrance subtly accentuated by the sea salt further.

Traditional Carbonara Spaghetti with Mushroom  (MYR 30)

Was thinking to give matcha desserts a pass but then when the eyes set forth upon Wakatake Matcha, the plan changed, hehe. Although i'm known to be an avid Matcha lover (or rather Matcha Queen as how friends around love to tease me that way), i'm quite particular on the taste profile.

Wakatake Matcha Cruffin (MYR 15)

Personally, i find that those general matcha that is widely served at cafes largely are still too sweet to me, lack of in-depth flavour- until i came across Matcha Hero's matcha and the one that i love the most happens to originate from Wakatake. Its umami is second to none as it just has perfect balance of richness and sweetness, with bright green color which emphasizes matcha original flavour- to some may term it as slighly bitter. I would say tad more to seaweed taste? (=

Of course some classic cup of joe and tea to complement the enjoyable treats.

Black MYR 11

House blend of Columbia, Brazil and Costa Rica with roasted mixed nuts, sweet chocolate and vanilla taste notes.

Ma An Shan Pu Erh (MYR 13)

Very unique ceramic used for the beverage- but the log-like cup handle is bit too big on the aesthetic side (=

  1. There has been a meteoric rise in the use of China Bopp film suppliers in the last few years. Their films are recyclable, which makes them eco-friendly and inexpensive. Their reliable quality and personalization choices make them the go-to for companies seeking efficient and appealing product packaging, whether for labeling, lamination, or protective covers.
